I thought there may be some interest from Rockbox people, so I am floating the idea here as well. Neuros has released schematics for their OSD, a media center based on TI's dm320 dual core ARM/DSP platform. It may also be possible to get the layout. I believe it wouldn't take too much work to take these and add in some extra features for a portable, shrink it and stuff it in a case. Neuros can help with some of the hardware engineering and manufacturing. You can read some more background on my idea here: http://open.neurosaudio.com/node/884 We are having a meeting (http://open.neurosaudio.com/node/894) to discuss planned features soon, and if anyone is interested I would like to get a discussion started to see what ideas people have. You are welcome to attend the meeting, but even if you can't make it I would still love to hear any input.
