It's certainly possible - possibly even likely - that recent changes are responsible from the 29th on. I take it you mean the 30GB video? This is the first instance of a video not bootling I've heard of and I do know at least someone else's does for a fact (though I don't know if it's a 30 gig).
Perhaps try a newer bootloader if one is available and full fresh install with settings reset. Who knows at this point. If that doesn't help it's going to turn out to be some minor setup issue I think. No radical surgery needed however some low-level poking is likely needed then. That kind of debugging is really hard without a device in hand and very difficult to patch test. Hmmm.

It seems that ipod 30 GB fails to boot entirely on builds from and including the one from 20070929. It goes as far as the "Rockbox loaded" message but then it halts. It doesn't respond to buttons or recognize when the usb cable is plugged in.
Has anyone else seen this or is it just my box? Maybe my bootloader is too old? The startup says version 20060126-1839. I haven't tried all the builds past the 29:th but the latest two at least behave the same way. The build from the 28:th works ok.
I looked briefly at the change logs and perhaps it has to do with the changes related to firmware startup and thread startup?
I'd be happy to try any fixes on my ipod as soon as I have the time.
