To better understand your problem we need to know your full build number and if you have a copy of the firmware that would be great help as well.

I've tried the exact same thing on my iPod video 30GB for about a month ago. When i charged it with the Apple iPod charger, it showed that it was full in the display, and when i unplugged it, it was empty. But when charging from my computer, it charged to 100%, and behaved normally.Now i've got another charger, and it works perfect again. Maybe you could try to charge your iPod with a friend's charger and see if the problem is still there? Jonashn
