Hi.
thanks for your suggestion for some reason it didn't work.
the talk clips generated fine with no problem after i modified the voice box script.
the clips also played fine when i was manually navigating in the viewers folder in .rockbox\rocks\viewers.
but when i actually hit the open with option in the menus the clips wouldn't play so i'm guessing that some other function is actually doing something that means it won't work. guess its time to look at the code.
but i'm not sure where i find the code that deals with open with.
do you think if i created entrys in the lang file for the actual plugins that are displayed in the open with dialog if that would work?

Hi and welcome to rockbox development!

Your best chance of understanding how rockbox works is to read the code and ask specific questions in irc, this list will probably get you an answer too but not as fast :)

There is no single way to voice something, check out how it's done in other places and the relevant worker functions in talk.c. The "open with" dialog is actually just the file browser showing the viewers dir so maybe it will "just work" if you put .talk clips for the viewer files in there.
