Date: Mon, 21 Jan 2008 12:55:30 +0100 Hi Daniel, I've a running Linux webserver which I use mainly for serving my photo galleries! It is only a 1.7GHz machine with 117GB free disk space, but IMHO I think it might worth giving it a try! ~ HD ~ -- Hans-Dieter Stich monospot.de :: DigitalFotoKunst.de ________________________________ Von: rockbox-dev-bounces_at_cool.haxx.se im Auftrag von Daniel Stenberg Gesendet: Mo 21.01.2008 11:48 An: Rockbox Development Cc: Rockbox Betreff: Build server reminder! Hi friends This is just a gently reminder that our cool build-on-commit[1] system works only thanks to the donated server resources by volunteers. Lately the number of servers alive that tirelessly build everything has decreased and while we still are seeing 10-11 servers, the time to build a single "round" (all builds for all targets, currently 67 different ones) has increased and is now often around 8 minutes from previously having been below 5 minutes during periods. So, if you have a 2GHz+ Linux machine with a few gigabytes online, please consider setting things up to help us build faster! All details on how to setup a build server - it really isn't very hard - can be found on this page in the wiki: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/BuildServer Of course, non-programmers also have numerous other ways to contribute to our humble project and I jotted some down the other day: http://daniel.haxx.se/blog/2008/01/14/what-can-i-do-for-rockbox-when-not-programming/ [1] = http://daniel.haxx.se/blog/2007/11/13/distributed-builds-on-every-commit/ -- Daniel Stenberg -- http://www.rockbox.org/ -- http://daniel.haxx.se/
