TSR = Terminate and stay resident. The term dates back to the time of
DOS when this technique was used quite frequently. Wikipedia has an
article about it:

when considering development ideas please try to keep in mind that the
flash based players (as the color targets) are still in the minority
counting the number of targets (they might be much more popular when
looking at users, but that's a different story).
