Rockbox mail archiveSubject: M-Audio MicrotrackM-Audio Microtrack

Date: Fri, 22 Aug 2008 09:58:57 +1000 I am looking at porting rockbox to the M-Audio microtrack. My application is a little different, I want to make it a more versatile recorder and am looking at using the rockbox firmware as a base for my application. Its based on the PP5020, has a AK5365 codec, 16MB RAM, 4MB Flash. It takes a compact flash card for recording to. It doesn't load the firmware of the CF. To update the firmware you have to copy it to the card and then use its own internal software. It has one unmarked header, could be JTAG, although out of the 8 pins, one is ground, one is 3.3V and the rest look to have pull ups on them. My main stumbling block is how to get the new firmware on it without turning it into a brick. Does anyone have a datasheet for the PP5020? It would be nice if it could load firmware off the CF card, but I imagine this is going to require a hacked bootloader. Has anyone got any suggestions on how to attack this one?
