That's probably the reason why the (Sansa) OF only offers "USA" and "World" as region settings and not Europe anymore.

I fully agree to all of your points. Italians should still be able to listen to all of their stations.
I might add that the settings could possibly be renamed to something like "Spacing.." - "100KHz (World)", "50KHz (Italy)", or something like that. It makes clearer what the setting does and implies that changing alters the amount of stations found (in case the region has xx.x0MHz stations).
