I certainly wouldn't be upset if multifont was a project for GSoC...
As for it not being a summers worth of coding, we need to remember
that although it is "12 weeks" work, the amount of pay means it isnt
worth 12 weeks full time work, lowering the bar here means its more
likely that someone will be able to do the project in full.

Also, multifont isn't exactly a trivial problem. it might not be 12
weeks full time worth of coding, but it wouldnt be far off if its not
committed until its 100% perfect.


rockbox as an app again would be nice to see but I'm thinking it may
be too much for a project (going by last years attempt...)

I really like the idea of a project to try splitting database/tagcache
into a lib, if only for it to mean that it would get some desperatly
needed love... In my quick searching I found 1 program (easypmp) which
seems to try syncing DAP's with its OF's database which could benefit
from this.

Lastly, (almost feel sick suggesting this), but if there is a small
itunesDB library that could be used, maybe we think about replacing
tagcache with itunesDB on all targets?
