5G iPod emergency head retracts when entering USB mode

Hi,

If I connect USB to my 30GB 5G iPod while the HD is off, that leads to
an emergency head retract. (It can be heard as a louder click than
usual followed by a whine that descends in frequency. Power generated
from the platter's inertia is used to move the head.) I've read that
these wear out hard drives more than ordinary retracts and so I think it
may be important to fix this bug. I think this bug also prevents
settings from being saved when entering USB mode.

I've submitted a patch at http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/9863 .

Regards,

Boris
