Date: Thu, 12 Feb 2009 19:50:33 -0500 Hi, If I connect USB to my 30GB 5G iPod while the HD is off, that leads to an emergency head retract. (It can be heard as a louder click than usual followed by a whine that descends in frequency. Power generated from the platter's inertia is used to move the head.) I've read that these wear out hard drives more than ordinary retracts and so I think it may be important to fix this bug. I think this bug also prevents settings from being saved when entering USB mode. I've submitted a patch at http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/9863 .
