Re: Sansa e200 battery charging (bug?)

"On an original (v1) Sansa e250 I cannot get Rockbox (current build as of 20
may 09) to charge the battery. Under Debug -> view battery I see Battery
3.6 V (elsewhere this is interpreted as 8% charge), Charger: present, State:
Discharging. My read through the code seems to indicate that the charger
should be enabled under these conditions. Am I missing something or is this
a bug?

A little more background/information:
This e250 will not charge in the original firmware either."

Then there is a possible hardware issue. My e260v1 works fine in both
retailos and rockbox. I've been really busy and out of the loop, so maybe
code was changed? Though that would only explain a change with rockbox, not
OF.

"Does anyone know why this would not trigger a call to enable_charger()
making the charge_state go to CHARGING?"

Perhaps it does and then the charger finds the current flow is too low and
triggers a false 'done'? The SVN code (as I saw it last) will attempt to
start a charge cycle at 3.6V for sure. It should do a topoff at 4.16V or
below. The c200 will always top off when plugged but that isn't really the
best way to do things. On that model, only the 'flakey' measurement is
available for qualifying the battery state.
