The ipods are not the only targets which use very long presses.

In fact all devices which power off with a button press and have
no hardware limitation (short hardware poweroff timeout -
applies to Player and Recorder v1 only) power off on a very
long press in order to avoid premature poweroff. This concept
isn't a rockbox invention, many (all?) OFs do this too.

There are also other targets where rockbox (has to) use long
press and very long press on the same button. The Ondios come
to mind.
