I didn't say nor mean that each make would build only one checkwps. I was
talking about getting the build more streamlined with how other builds are
done.

This said, if a single build produces 40 output files it is a bit tricky to
automatically check the presence of the output files - like the distributed
build system does today - so I figure the build script for checkwps should
offer that service as well.
