Perhaps something like that from the quickscreen could be
nice. Although, I think that is starting to make things a bit
complicated, a keymap to announce time is a good start I think and well
not sure about battery level yet.

Sorry I mean:
Open the quickscreen then a long select would bring up the
fast-voice-accessibility menu.

Is that right

Yes, interesting idea although it's no longer a really fast way to check
the time.
