It's strange, isn't their a name which would be accepted by all players
? "e200p.bin" for example
How is the file named in sandisk .zip files ?

Right, I have seen this because I store my firmwares as XXX-version.bin,
not the original filename.

If we use several copies, there could be several cycles of firmware
upgrade, power off, power on, and it could leave files on the player so
I think it's a bad solution.
If we can't find a filename which always works then the commit should be
reverted and we could add a note about file naming
