Date: Thu, 25 Mar 2010 09:41:00 +0100 Hi all, I would like to participate in GSOC. I am interested in creating couple of the online services. 1. I would like todo the online application for generating voice files. I already contacted the concrete mentor who was mentioned by these online service, but he suggested to me to do two online services since they are easier then the other projects and to contact the whole community. How I understand it? So there would be a form where you would pick a language, rate, pitch and the tts system (espeak or festival) and it would create a link after submiting the form where you can download the generated voice file from. Maybe also more free tts systems will be possible to use than just espeak and festival. I can look for other possible ones or just if any of you know more then let me know... I would like to know your suggestions what all I should check. The person I have contacted before told me to check out the voice.pl, but if you can seeany problems I can encounter in this project or what I should be aware of, then please let me know. 2. As a second online service I'd like to do the creation of forms for managing the fmpresets ofusers. My imagination of this idea is, that there will be two forms. The first one where you would enter a country, city, maybe GPS possition and the name of the radio station and its frequency. The GPS possition will be obtional if entering a new radio station, but if some one already entered the GPS possition of the picked city before and there will be a radio station in the database without GPS possition so then it would be matched with the GPS possition by the same city. So for instance the person can pick a country, city and generate all possible radio stations within certain distance from the picked spot defined by GPS possition. The second form where you can select certain country, city or distance in kilometres from certain GPS possition and then all available names of radio stations with their frequencies will be shown so the user can copy and paste it to his/her file. The choice of creating a file will be possible for downloading as well. At the web-site is also mentioned an option like generating fmpresets from the global frequency database. Is there a concrete web-site with the database which is suggested or required to use? Any ideas or suggestions for the two mentioned online services are welcomed. thanks Roman Received on 2010-03-25 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
