I personally don't care about editors that don't *read* \n properly. The
use case I have in mind is editors that read and display everything just
fine but don't save things "correctly" then (or need a setting that
people can forget).

That case is easily handled with eol-style=LF, and that *is* the correct
way to handle this in the svn world.
