Then I wonder why it was changed from long play/pause to power on the
e200. I mostly took the e200 keymap as a guideline for the fuze keymap
(simply because I used that most before the Fuze and I wanted
consistency between the two). I expected the e200 is a good guideline
because r15461 supposedly changed the e200 so that it's consistent with
other targets.

Not at all. You can't stop there, only pause.
