Do we really need to wait till Tuesday? (or even Monday really)? If
someone has something they want in the release and are busy over the
weekend they can always commit it straight into the release branch (If
the bugfix is severe enough or ig enough then I would have expected at
least some talk in IRC before committing, and I cant recall any in the
last few days, and one line changes aren't likely to cause problems if
the had any testing...)

I seriously don't expect anyone else to agree with me though, so yes,
branching on Tuesday sounds good.
