Actually I have proposed two different projects. The first one would
be implementing a "unionfs-like" system for the file browser that
would integrate two drives seamlessly with writing capabilities.
However, this may have some design decisions to take (mentioned in
this thread) and maybe it would not totally worth the effort.
So, an alternative for those who doesn't bother too much with writing
seamlessly is to implement a "merged folder view" inside the database.
Since it is a simpler task, my approach to this second project would
be incrementing tagnavi with more features, since I'd probably have to
work on it anyway.
