How to shorten the LONG PLAY press to shut down an iPod?

Hi all,
since I'm experiencing a little bit too much long the time after which
the pressed PLAY button shut down the DAP, I would like to try to
shorten this value.

Digging in the sources, I found this define:

trunk/firmware/target/arm/ipod/button-target.h:76:#define POWEROFF_COUNT 40

The questions are:
is this enough to change the LONG PRESS time?
and was the value 40 hard coded after some calibration or have I some
range to perform some tests?

Thanks for any hint, also little. :-)
