horrible hack to get remote control accessory to work

Hey guys!

So one annoying thing about how remote control accessories
work, is that they only work properly when the wps is shown.
At least in my case (ipod video 5.5 + a radio remote with
play,left,right,vol+,vol- buttons)
In the main menu the play button opens stuff,
and in the file tree view it does two things: it opens
the selected item, and then play/pause/stop

So if somehow rockbox exits from the WPS screen to the main menu, or anything,
the remote control won't work anymore, and it is especially annyoing
if I am at a
bigger distance, and I have to walk over to fix it.

Attached is a horrible hack to keep the
play/pause/stop/vol+/vol-/skipnext/skipback
working in most contexts. Seeking in a file is not implemented.

Do you think that it's worth time cleaning up something like this?
Would a cleaned up version be considered for inclusion in rockbox?

Andrei
