FS#5580 - H300 - battery running out while connected ---> dead iriver.

My iriver h320 was connected to my computer when it ran out of battery. After this, the player will not start at all. I have tried recharging for several hours, but not even the charging screen will appear. Pressing “play”, “play-record” and “reset” does not seem have any effect. I was using fw 1.28kor and a rockbox version from about June 8th. Is there something I can do? Is my iriver gone forever?

User fixed Rockbox-unrelated problem.

it sounds like it just drained the battery below the minimum level, so a new battery should fix it. it sucks, but its unlikly youve actually damaged the player

Try charging the player with the wall adapter if that’s not what you are already doing.

Problem solved! I had already tried charging with the wall adapter whichs only resulted in a black screen. To make the player work, I simply opened up the player, unplugged the battery and the reinsertded it. Now it’s working like before. The battery is still in good condition.
