FS#7168 - Sansa's scroll wheel doesn't work in games

I’m running the Rockbox version 13377 and the scroll wheel of my Sansa e200 doesn’t work in games like Doom and Rockboy. I didn’t test it in the other games, but it seems like it’s a problem that occurs when you are in a program, because when i’m using the scroll wheel in the main menu, it works. Before that, I had another version of Rockbox that was released the 10 May and I had not this kind of problem.

Thank you in advance.

The sansa scrollwheel generates repeats now depending upon the speed it is rotated so some plugin keymaps are likely out of date. Some core menus needed updating for this when the changes were made as well.

Thank you very much for your answer!
Will it be possible to fix this bug in the future?
I hope that yes.
By the way, I really appreciate the new way that Rockbox is scrolling in the menu.
When I was scrolling through the long list of files, I thought it was taking too much times,
but now I think it’s just perfect!
Thank you very much for that.

I can’t imagine it should be too long before it is. I’ll get to it soon if it’s not done shortly.

I can confirm this bug. I have a Sansa e270 6gb with rockbox r13410 and i can’t use the scrollwheel in doom menu to activate “new game”

I assumed they were repaired when solitaire started working again but a look back showed it was just solitaire.

yeah, each plugin needs to be fixed seperatly.

I think I took care of it. I’m sure of all except for Rockboy. I just dumped the same method into Rockboy as works for Doom. Spacerocks was changed to use the scrollwheel for turning the ship because I found it extremely playable like that. Brickmania can use L and R and scrollwheel on the paddle now. If all that’s ok, this can close.

Great news. Can you notify us when you have checked in the patch..I’m eager to get my doom game working :)
