FS#7284 - [sansa] FM radio: station searching stops too early

when you press the left/rigth keys for some time rb will look for the next radio station but it stops about 0.15-0.25 MHz before the right frequency.

I don’t know the code but I guess it is looking for some kind of signal-level… So, either increase the signal level where the autosearch stops or better → look for peaks instead of levels.

also the “auto preset search” also doesn’t work very well… it saves about 5 presets for each station.

I'm quite aware that proper station searching isn't implemented yet…if fact there's a TODO in the driver code but I wanted to help get it up and running and at least tuning to the right frequency since this tuner is a bugger to work with and has a rather complicated driver since it's basically all "manual". Right now it is just using signal level and that isn't reliable of course.

So, you're using Europe region (guessing from the numbers you give)? I take it that it at least tunes reliably to the wanted station when just keying to it? The accuracy of the initial tuning before AFC is +/-20kHz but being more accurate makes it slower since measurement times are longer.

Oh, I see. ..yes, besides the searching thing everything is fine, as far as i can tell. The patches before the SVN commit always needed 3-5 seconds to "center" the station but thats gone now.

thx for your hard work :)

btw. yeah, I am from europe… graz actually → i heard that some parts of the sansa were built here.. so if you need anything, i am on-site ;)

The scanning seems to be working rather well for me right now, I only had the scan miss it's mark by .20 MHz once in several goes around the dial. Region is US/Canada. Has anything been changed or is it just a lucky night?
