FS#8235 - iPod Freezing

I’m not sure if this is a charging issue or what but when RockBox starts up with the USB cable plugged in, Vista will make the sound of a usb device connecting and it will say something like “Software needs to be installed for your RockBox player” and I hit cancel since I don’t have software. After that the iPod is frozen. The hard drive icon is on and the hard drive is spinning but nothing happens, I actually need to unplug the usb cable and restart to make it work again.

Actually it just did something weird while I am typing this. It restarted by itself after about 2 minutes or so, and I just unplugged the cable.

I hope I gave enough info. Thanks.

 FS#8506

I have a related/similar problem: when I plug my iPod Mini (2nd generation) into the computer, I also get a message about software being required, and press cancel. My iPod isn’t frozen, but it’s not possible to access it through USB.

I tried sniffing with SnoopyPro, but didn’t get any information.

Oh, sorry, just noticed the following in the list of MajorChanges: “Does not support file transfer yet, just charging.” Sorry for cluttering this bug report.
