FS#9239 - Work on Turkish Translation

This is a work in progress to add more translations to the Turkish Language File. I’m using http://rasher.dk/rockbox/translate/problems.php?lang=turkce to find what to add.

Committed in revision 19425. Things look better now, but there's still a long way to go until a complete translation though.

Here are more translations, I took rashers idea and overwrit the old turkce.lang with a copy of english.lang . Unfortunately doing so did something to my eclipse so I can’t make patches of it, and therefore present you with the raw lang file. Still a work in progress.

   turkce.lang (182.8 KiB)

Since you haven’t translated a great deal yet, I won’t commit this change, unless you really want me to? Once you get further along, I (or someone else) will happily commit so you can use my translation tool, but for now, it’s probably easier to just keep editing the file manually.

Great to see another translation getting into shape.

Here’s more work on the translation, still very much a work in progress. No there’s no need to commit this at the moment, the current translation still has more work in it than this one, and I still need to ask a few friends in Turkey to double-check some of my work. Some of these terms, “High-Frequency Attentuation”, I’ve never heard before so I’m trying to truly understand them before I figure out what the Turkish equivalent is.

Thanks for the support, I’ll try to finish this within a week or so.

   turkce.lang (182.9 KiB)

Here’s more progress, it’s still not done unfortunately but I’m aiming at having it done significantly before the 3.0 ship date.

How are things going? Remember the release is hopefully no more than a couple of weeks away.

More progress, I think this is in a committable state. Again I’m aiming at finishing before the 3.0 ship date.

At a short glance it looks good. Here is a diff bassed on old turkce.lang which hasn’t been updated since 02.

   tk.diff (206.8 KiB)

If you want to get this done in time for 3.0, you have about 24 hours.

This is an attempt at merging the old version with the new. It’s using entries mainly from the new translation, but 58 phrases from the old translation were used. This was done in places where the new translation was identical to the English one - the old one might need updating in these cases, but that’s preferred to an untranslated phrase. In cases where neither differed from English, I removed the phrase. Running uplang will add it again if needed and prompt for translation.

Attached both diff and full langfile.

Better attempt with a slightly more clever script.
