Task Description
The Sazanami-Mincho-Regular-*.fnt includes 7128 characters. However, there are about 7500 character not included in the Sazanami-Mincho-Regular-*.fnt though it is included in the sazanami-mincho.ttf font (This font is a font that became an origin when the Sazanami-Mincho-Regular-*.bdf font is made).
Please look at “List.txt” file about the character not included in the Sazanami-Mincho-Regular-*.fnt.
The cause of this problem is in “fontForge”(http://fontforge.sourceforge.net) used when the bdf file is made from the ttf file.
When the bdf file was made by using ”Otf2bdf”(http://www.math.nmsu.edu/~mleisher/Software/otf2bdf/) instead of “fontForge”, all characters included in the ttf file were able to be taken out.
However, when you make the Sazanami-Mincho-Regular-*.fnt by using Sazanami-mincho-Regular-*.bdf that applies the patch, The interval between the line and the line opens from present Sazanami-Mincho-Regular-*.fnt a little.
Please report by using new Sazanami-Mincho-Regular-*.fnt(in new-Sazanami-Mincho-Regular-fonts.zip).

Tested multiple audio formats.
Does not occur if no head phones are plugged in.
If you play a song for a bit at low volume (tested -14dB) before raising the volume, it is okay.
To reproduce: Find a loud, bass-heavy part of a song, and halt playback right there. Set volume to 6dB. Set bass to 14. Resume playback.
Usually freezes in less than a second when I do that.

24bit 96000 Hz 6 Channel (5.1) FLAC files skip to next song after 30 seconds. 30 seconds is an estimate because my screen is broken, so I can’t see what’s happening. I downloaded a daily build 3 days ago, but I think it’s a buffering issue. Flac is 8181 kbps (says Foobar).
It’s the first time I tried these files, so I don’t know if they ever worked, or ever will. If they never will work, I’m sorry for reporting this.

Task Description
I was recently renaming some of the music files on my Sansa Clip+ MP3 player using my computer. Some of the renames were as simple as changing the case of some of the letters in the filename, from uppercase to lowercase. After I disconnected my device, I noticed that there were duplicates of certain entries in the database. Upon further investigation, I realized that all of the entries that were duplicated were the files that the names of which I had renamed by changing the case of the letters. After I discovered this, I tried to rename a file in this manner using the device. When I tried to save the file with the new name, the screen showed a box that read “Rename Failed.” Apparently, at least for Sansa Clip+, RockBox has a problem with renaming files by changing the case of the letters. Let me know if any other RockBox devices have this problem as well.

They still reproducably crash my Rockbox. I found a workaround, though: mp3 versions of the same songs play all right. Rockbox for me still is the only known way to have gapless playback on my phone. Thanks for that guys!

Task Description
Metronome plugin is not functional on Ipod 6G.
Steps to reproduce: 1) Open metronome; 2) Hold the "Select" button.
Expected: – The metronome starts to tick in the headphones.
Observed: – The text on the screen changes from "start: hold select" to "stop : cancel", but no sound is made. – A short click on the Select button emits a single tick sound, but the tapped frequency cannot be captured as the Ipod 6G does not have any "Record" button.
Comment: As single taps can be made, the metronome.c / play_tock() seems to work and at least some sort of sound can be produced on this hardware, maybe something is wrong with the timer_callback() ?

12006 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Android: OGG, SPX, MP3 playback problem | 2011-03-12 | Tuomas Airaksinen | 2011-08-12
Task Description
I’m using revision 29572 of android port. Host system is Samsung Galaxy 3 i5800, with 240×400 resolution display, with version 2.2 (Froyo) of Android.
The problem is as follows. When trying to start playback of OGG or SPX files, the playback does not start occasionally (the change is maybe less than 20% to have playback). By rewinding randomly it is possible to get it start playback. The same behaviour occurs when starting from bookmarks and from file explorer. The problem occurs with default config file.
Tried with MP3 and had the same problem. The problem may be with other codecs as well but I have not tried it so extensively.

12417 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Audio crackling problem on Fuze v2 | 2011-11-30 | Tucker Cane | 2012-07-30 | 1 |
Task Description
I have RockBox version 3.9 on my Sansa Fuze v2 and so far I love it, but I have one problem. On a few tracks in my library, when I play them, the first few minutes of the song will be strangely distorted. Most of them are songs where the music starts off in just one of the speakers before moving into the other one. There will be bursts of loud, crackly noise in the other speaker during these first few seconds (that seem to be in time with the music) and then it will fix itself and the rest of the song will play perfectly. When I boot the default Sandisk firmware the songs play perfect like they should, it is only in RockBox that this glitch happens. I’ve messed with the settings a bit and even reset them completely, but nothing has worked thus far.
Attached is one of the songs that this happens with, from about 2 seconds in to about 7 seconds in. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really want to enjoy my music without that crap in it.

Task Description
Daily build c6d5cd7-170907
An idle power off can occur in recording mode. When it does, data loss occurs. This has already bitten me a few times.
Steps to reproduce (on battery, not charging): 1. Execute Settings > Manage Settings > Reset Settings 2. Set Settings > General Settings > Startup/Shutdown > Idle Poweroff to 1 minute 3. Reboot 4. Go to Recording mode 5. Note current Volume and Gain settings and then change them to something else and note the new settings. Don't start a recording; just leave it in “stop” mode (*not* record or record-pause). 6. Wait for automatic power off 7. Power back on and check recorder settings
Expected: Settings are what they were after being changed. Actual: Settings reverted to what they were on boot.
This can cause the loss of entire recordings, too:
8. Go back to Recording mode. 9. Wait until just before Rockbox would power off, then start a recording (if the display goes to sleep, it comes back on a bit before powering off; start the recording as soon as it comes back on).
Expected: Recording is done as usual Actual: Rockbox powers off anyway, without warning, less than a minute into the recording. The recording is lost (or if the file is there, it's unplayable; maybe this depends on the recording format used).

10896 | Bugs | Font/charset | Very Low | Changed default codepage is applied only afterl reboot | 2010-01-06 | Tomer Shalev | 2010-05-05
Task Description
Tested on r24190-100105
To reproduce: - Start Rockbox, default setting - Play a file with ID3 tags which are encoded in some non-Latin locale (In my case, Hebrew). Notice that the strings are shown in Gibberish. - Change Default Codepage to the other locale (e.g. Hebrew). - Go back to WPS
Expected result: All strings that are encoded in the other locale are shown properly. Current result: All these strings are shown in the original locale.
Workaround: Restart the player. The new locale is applied.
I will not have time to fix this myself, so I'll appreciate if someone else can take responsibility for this bug. Thanks.

11031 | Bugs | Plugins | Very Low | Brickmania: Game doesn't load well | 2010-02-17 | Tomer Shalev | 2010-02-19 | 2 |
Task Description
When loading a saved Brickmania game, the game is loaded corrupted. Please see screenshot attached to see for yourself. There is one brick in the right side which is shown corrupted, and one corrupted rectangle in the left side of the screen which drops like a power object, and stays at the bottom of the screen.
This issue happens on Cowon D2 target. It doesn't happen on the D2's simulator.
Looking at the code and comparing the loading/saving function against the Bubble's game functions, I can see that the return value of file operations is not checked (I'll fix that). In Bubbles, there's a single file operation of reading/writing the game context struct. In Brickmania there are several consequent file operation to read/write each variable. Maybe the drivers doesn't handle this well on this target. A workaround for that could possibly be to join all saved variables under one game context struct as in Bubbles, but that could mask a real bug somewhere else.

11672 | Bugs | Manual | Very Low | manual, sansa clip+: No keys for actions | 2010-10-12 | Timo Paulssen | 2011-06-10 | 1 |
Task Description
On page 51, which is in Section 6.8, there is a table for keys/actions. The Key column is completely empty, though.
On page 77, in Section 11.1.1, the blackjack game plugin, there table is similarly broken. Same for BrickMania in Section 11.1.2. Chessbox, in section 11.1.4 has a similar problem with only the "direction keys" being in the table. There are many more games with this problem.
This is for a manual I downloaded 2010-10-11.
Thank you for your attention.

9189 | Bugs | Codecs | Very Low | Switching APE tracks no longer works on H120 | 2008-07-12 | Thomas Pfenning | 2011-05-05
Task Description
I have only tested this on my H120 with an 18007 build. I have been using the APE codec for some time now and never had a problem in the past.
After reformatting my hard drive and installing the current build I found that rockbox has 2 problems with my APE files
1. The parser for APE files no longer recognizes my APE files encoded with version 8,9 of Jriver Media Center. Result is that files don't play when selected in the file browser and these files do net get added to the database.
2. When switching APE tracks one of two possible behavior occur. a) the Iriver freezes completely. b) On switching tracks there is a loud hiss and then playback of the next track resumes.
Cheers
Thomas

Task Description
The %pb tag has a small problem. If an image is specified but no height, the tag draws the size of a line even if larger than the the image. This leads to pixel garbage below the progressbar.
The test.wps reproduces the problem in the 320x480 sdl app The default font, 27-adobe, has to be selected probably. The wps works if a height, i.e. 20 in this case as the image height, is specified
Test.png shows the problem. test.zip is the small test theme.

12591 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Playback of FLAC skips tracks randomly on Clip+ | 2012-02-19 | Thomas M. | 2012-02-19
Task Description
I'm using Rockbox 3.10 with the 01.02.16 Clip+ Firmware on a Sansa Clip+ 8GB, installed via the installer.
There are a lot of 44kHz/16bit FLAC files stored on the device. During playback it could happen that the next track starts while the current one isn't even close to finished. This can be in the first few seconds or in the middle of the song.
This usually doesn't happen to the same song twice. It's generally a different song each time. When skipping back to the track that was skipped, it usually plays without any problems.
The memory has been checked with CHKDSK and no errors were found. The FLACs play fine in foobar2000 and I'm certain that they are okay.
I do believe the error occurs most often after roughly quarter to half an hour of playback.
This may be related to FS#12208

12008 | Bugs | User Interface | Very Low | Empty menus lead to NULL pointer access | 2011-03-13 | Thomas Jarosch | 2011-03-13
Task Description
Hello,
empty menu items crash rockbox due to NULL pointer access. Easily reproducable with the "LCD settings" in RaaA / SDL app build.
The resulting valgrind trace looks like this: ==22619== Invalid read of size 4 ==22619== at 0x407FDA: do_menu (menu.c:555) ==22619== by 0x41B198: miscscrn (root_menu.c:323) ==22619== by 0x41B377: load_screen (root_menu.c:520) ==22619== by 0x41B72A: root_menu (root_menu.c:688) ==22619== by 0x406DFA: main (main.c:196) ==22619== Address 0x0 is not stack'd, malloc'd or (recently) free'd
Question: Should we protect against "menu→submenus" being NULL or should the menu system hide empty menus without any items at all?
Cheers, Thomas

Hi,
the random_folder_advance_config plugin fails to build the folders on N900 / RaaA. I guess it suffers from the same as the database update did in the past: It probably follows starts over and over again in the /proc or /sys filesystem.

12749 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Android Tablet with Froyo: Playback pauses briefly ever... | 2012-09-07 | Thomas Heuving | 2012-09-07
Task Description
On my newly purchased (but used) Archos Internet Tablet 70 250GB with Android Version 2.2.? (Froyo) I installed the daily build of rasher. Everything works so far, but playback of MP3 (mostly 160 Kbit CBR and ~200 Kbit VBR) pauses briefly every 2 to 3 minutes. I just reformatted the drive, which now has ext3 and that seems to end the pause which I got on FAT32 after ~4 Seconds of every new song, but every 3 minutes or so the playbacks stops for about a second - very annoying. Don't tried other codecs as I don't own any files other than MP3. I was in the developers menu during one of this pauses, looking at the list of the contributors. The old names fly away to the right, but this was frozen also during this one second timespan - as if the rockbox-process was paused entirely or so.

12771 | Bugs | FM Tuner | Very Low | FMS display problem when using themes that exhibit radi... | 2012-10-19 | Terry Layton | 2012-10-19 | 4 |
Task Description
Device: Sansa Fuze v2 (stable port) Rockbox Release: 3.12
Recently I have been noticing a problem with themes that allow radio station logos to be displayed on the FMS screen. This is most noticeable with the analog and Fuzemod themes. While the logo displays properly, other images on the screen do not. In the case of the analog theme, the VU meter appears corrupted and with the Fuzemod theme the battery animation, tuning bar slider and playmode indicator icons fail to appear as expected. This problem was not present when either of these themes was used with the releases before version 3.12. In fact this bug appears to have been introduced by one of the experimental daily development builds either in May or June. I have tried different sets of radio station logos and preset lists with these themes but I always get the same result when using version 3.12; everything is fine with any previous release. Since this problem occurs with two different themes along with any combination of radio station logos and preset lists, I can only conclude that it originates with the firmware.
I have attached to this report three generic radio station logos in bitmap format along with a generic preset list. You can put these into /.rockbox/fmpresets and try your own tests. Since the frequencies were selected at random, don’t expect them to tune in anything. Besides, there is nothing wrong with the ability of the Rockbox firmware to tune in radio stations or play their music. The problem starts as soon as the user starts flipping through the station presets, so don’t be shy about changing the station frequently during your tests. I also find that in order to accurately reproduce this problem the Sansa Fuze v2 should be powered off then on again whenever a new theme or preset list is loaded.
