12455 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Any EQ Low Shelf change from 0.0 causes click at start ... | 2011-12-15 | Julian Hughes | 2011-12-15 | 1 |
Task Description
Hardware: iriver H140, iriver H340, Sansa Clip+
Rockbox version: 3.10 downloaded from http://www.rockbox.org/download/byhand.cgi I have also reproduced bug on official firmwares as old as 3.5.1, and on my own builds.
Settings: 100% default except for enabling EQ and setting an EQ i.e. using graphical EQ to set LS -0.5 at 60Hz or LS +1.5 at 60Hz
Expected behaviour: music track, however loaded, starts in normal way, with no sounds other than those decoded from file. Restarting the track results in the same normal playback.
Actual behaviour: music track starts with an obvious and intrusive click. This happens whether the track is loaded individually, or if it is the first track of an album loaded via .m3u playlist. When using playlist subsequent tracks play normally, without a click. But restarting any track causes the click.
It makes no difference if the EQ Low Shelf Filter settings are a big change from flat, or a tiny difference. To induce the bug it’s enough that EQ is enabled and LS is not set to be flat i.e. just an increment of +/- 0.5 dB is enough, and changing the cut off frequency or the Q factor made no difference.
This bug is noticeable with any track that starts quietly, and especially with tracks from CDs that are not mastered to modern high levels.
The Clip does tend to make its own small click on manual track changes and some button presses; I am not confusing this with the bug I describe. On the irivers I get a single click, while on the Clip I get a very unmusical double click.
I’ve attached my H140 config to illustrate that the config is unremarkable and that apart from the EQ it is at default. If anyone needs me to try stuff or make any changes or try a patch that is fine, but I would prefer it to be on an iriver because the Sansa OF database refresh is so annoying.

12528 | Bugs | Playlists | Very Low | Can't load new file after saving a current playlist; er... | 2012-01-09 | Karl Huber | 2012-01-19
Task Description
How I am able to reproduce this behaviour on my clipv2 using rockbox 3.10:
I select a file to play using the file browser and rockbox creates a curent playlist. I save this playlist using the context menu and enter file browser again. I select a file from any other folder for playing back, I get a “playlist buffer full” error message, that keeps flickering on the screen, when pressing any button.
I increased all file limits and also deleted the .playlists_control file to have it recreated again. The saved playlist consists of 30-40 mp3s.

12184 | Bugs | Operating System/Drivers | Very Low | Fuze V1 locking when transferring files Rockbox 3.9 | 2011-07-09 | Kent Williams | 2013-11-16 | 1 |
Task Description
This is a post that another user put in the forums that pretty much describes the problems I'm having exactly:
" I have a v1 sansa fuze and been using rockbox since 3.8.1 first came out.I just upgraded to 3.9,did not mess with a-n-y setting at all,pc is windows vista (latest sp).Whenever i drag and drop folders with mp3s in them(be it 58 mb or 300 mb or 600 mb) it starts to copy but halfway through, the process just freezes, clicking cancel freezes the windows explorer for 10 seconds then cancels it.Even worse, when i go check out my sansa fuze at my computer,it's recognized but when i click on it,shows as empty!? so i disconnect safely, theeeen….device needs a hard reset. So i say ok this has happened once or twice before but guess what? it happened again…5 TIMES each on 3 different usb ports.Uninstalled rockbox, went back to official firmware and it's all normal…
So i changed the screen to be always on during plugged in and this is the error i get
data abort at 30054264 FSR 0x8 ( domain 0, fault 8 ) address 0xA00000BF "
I am running Windows 7 64-bit and experiencing the same issues. If the player doesn't lock outright, it gives the same error white screen described above. This seems to happen more frequently when copying folders that contain folders themselves, but I've had the problem occur on copying just one folder with no subfolders.

Task Description
Pressing the remote volume UP key on my iriver 140 in wps sometimes results in directory skip. This is not easy to reproduce, but I was able to repeat once that problem in conditions where I'm sure that the directory skip key wasn't pressed.
I don't know if it's a hardware related problem, but I've read somewhere about another user having the same problem.

Task Description
I have just now installed the latest stable version of rockbox (that would be 3.0) on an iriver h340. Unfortunately, it’s unusable at the moment due to some serious screen corruption. It sort of looks like this picture: http://img54.imageshack.us/img54/2263/iriver3qs.jpg, but is so much worse that it’s impossible to navigate the menus. If I wait for the backlight to go off, and then press a button, the screen looks fine until I start navigating, at which point the corruption resurfaces.
I’m really excited about rockbox, but this bug is a showstopper for me at the moment.
Thanks for looking into it!
Regards.

13054 | Bugs | FM Tuner | Very Low | sansa clip zip radio low volume | 2015-08-20 | koniu | 2016-08-18
Task Description
Heyup,
I’ve recently updated the build on my zip and the radio volume is greatly reduced. It`s very noticeable since I use a passive speaker connected straight to the player (top volume required). Volume of file playback is unaffected.
Here’s someone describing the same issue- http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74910
Same symptoms including (notably) normal volume in the recording screen (gain=0), and region settings make no difference.
I have no note of which build I had before the update but it was from around the end of 2014. Looking thru the changelog yielded no clues.

12801 | Bugs | Battery/Charging | Very Low | Toggling between charging and discharging while charged... | 2013-01-13 | Kurt Roeckx | 2016-01-20
Task Description
When my Fuze+ is charged and it's still connected to the charger, it seems it keeps toggling between charging and discharging.
I think the problem is that it reacts to some voltage to stop charging. When it's charging it measures up to 4.35 V. But when it stops charging it changes to 4.25V, and says something like 96-99% charged, and which point it changes to charging again, and so on.
So it's basicly toggling between charging and discharging very often, and I don't think that's very good for the battery. Once it's charged it should stop charging as long as the charger is connected. (This might apply to other devices too.)

12754 | Bugs | Codecs | Very Low | Opus decoder fails to play stereo tracks encoded with t... | 2012-09-23 | Kyle | 2012-09-28
Task Description
I have some stereo files that need to be encoded as two independent channels with no lossy stereo coupling. I encode these files by passing "–uncoupled" to the Opus encoder, e.g.
opusenc –bitrate 64 –framesize 60 –uncoupled example.wav example.opus
The lossless flac version of a sample of such a file prior to encoding can be downloaded from http://kyle.tk/binaural-beat-sample.flac
If I do not pass the "–uncoupled" option to the encoder, the resulting Opus file plays with no trouble on my Sansa Clip+. The sample of this encoding is at http://kyle.tk/binaural-beat-sample-64k.opus However, if I pass the "–uncoupled" option, sample at http://kyle.tk/binaural-beat-sample-64k-uncoupled.opus Rockbox only plays a cacophony of chirps, scratches, squeaks and garbled noise, and no hint of the original sound is detectable.
Note: I have only been able to test this on a Clip+, as I own no other Rockbox player that is capable of playing Opus files at this time. Hopefully someone can confirm this problem on other targets, but for now, I have been able to reproduce it 100% on the Clip+, and I can confidently point to "–uncoupled" as the encoder option that results in an unplayable file.

10590 | Bugs | Plugins | Very Low | Aliasing when playing MIDI files on iPod 5G | 2009-09-06 | kzuse | 2012-05-16 | 3 |
Task Description
Starting from the daily build from mid August (can’t exactly say when, because I don’t play MIDIs so often), the MIDI playback on my iPod 5G 30GB sounds distorted, especially the Piano sample.
It sounds as if the higher frequencies are chopped of and instead replaced by “alias frequencies”. Maybe something has been messed up in the mixing routine concerning decimation filter / interpolation.
I am using the original patchset provided here at rockbox.org.
Maybe somebody could check this - thank you!
Keep up the great work!

12769 | Bugs | Bootloader | Very Low | rb 3.12 - iriver H140 bootloader crash: 1st boot fails,... | 2012-10-19 | Leo H. | 2013-07-06
Task Description
Rockbox Info: Version: 3.12
Device: iRiver H140, 80GB Toshiba MK8009GAH 8mm 1.8" IDE HDD 8mm
BUG: Repeatable, Consistent.
Additional Information: 1. To verify that I had a good installation of the 3.12 version of the Rockbox firmware working, I have reformatted, and re-flashed rockbox 3.12 two seperate times after initially encountering this, duplicating this behavior. So it doesn't seem to be a bad firmware flash.
Expected Behavior: 1. Player should Power On and boot properly every single time the bootup sequence is initiated correctly (Play Button pressed when Player is in a Powered Off state).
Buggy Behavior: 1. Player Powers Up, then locks up (i.e. "crashes") during bootloader sequence, requiring a hard reset, and upon second boot, finally Powers On and boots properly, bringing up a functional session of the Main User Interface. This is repeatable, and consistent.
Bug Symptoms & How To Repeat: 1. Consistently the Player will lock up during first "boot" sequence. The bootloader will usually reach the text stage, and sometimes crash here. Sometimes the bootloader will get through the text stage and reach the Rockbox Logo and then crash here. The Main User Interface is never reached upon first "boot" sequence. 2. The result of the first "boot" lockup (i.e. "crash") requires that I reset the Player by inserting a paperclip into the Reset hole (on the bottom plate of the Player) and triggering the button hidden in there. This Powers Down the Player, and Resets the Firmware, leaving the Player ready to be Powered On again. 3. Upon the second "boot", the Player will "boot" and the bootloader will make it past the text stage, the Rockbox Logo stage, and then spin up the HDD properly; the bootloader will not lock up the firmware, and behaves 'normally', finally resulting in a completed boot up sequence with the Main User Interface coming up (as a user would expect). The Player is now ready to use.

Hello,
with r28861the touchscreen works with glitches. When I touch a line-item , the system sometimes don't react or the line selector just "twinkle".
My conjecture: It has somethin to do with the new "kinetic-scroll"-feature, because after a little kinetic-scroll the touch become precise.
(And yes, I've done a calibration: no effect)

Task Description
On build 30622 and previous builds, there is an issue with resuming playback.
When "Resume Playback" is selected from the menu, you transition into the music control screen but there is no output aside from some crackling noises.
Occasionally, the song would play for half a second before silencing.
The play/pause button during this situation shows a pause symbol which suggests that the song is supposed to play. However, the song progress bar remains at 0:00.
Currently on Cyanogenmod 7.1 nightly, Android version 2.3.5.

12558 | Bugs | Settings | Very Low | Some core_alloc users do not handle failures | 2012-01-22 | Lorenz | 2012-01-30 | 1 |
Task Description
If loading a config file that holds all configuration settings (Settings → Manage Settings - Save .cfg File) from Rockbox 3.9.1 in Rockbox 3.10 or the daily builds for Archos Recorder with Firmware V3, the player will not bootup correctly on the next restart and show:
I 4: IllInstr
directly at booting. I then press "On" again and get:
*PANIC* Stkov main
and the HD shuts down. If I press "On" again, the same loop continues.
The problem can only be resolved by plugging the player to USB, removing the rockbox directory and copying it again from the newest daily build or 3.10, then restart. It boots up fine again then. Doing the previous settings manually on 3.10 or the daily builds and then saving / loading them works fine and the player won´t have the boot-bug anymore.
I have attached the config file that creates the problem.

12805 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Digital squeaks on certain tracks while playback clip+ | 2013-01-18 | Lorenzo | 2013-01-18 | 1 |
Task Description
Rockbox versions: all from 3.7 to 3.12
There are really loud and annoying digital squeaks during playback on some tracks only (wma 64-96kbps). Usually the noise occurs when one channel is silent or almost. The problem doesn't occur with the OF. It makes no difference where the song is stored (sd or internal memory). The same tracks play fine on the pc. I attach a portion of a song I've recorded while playing on the device where the noise can be clearly heard.

13063 | Bugs | Recording | Very Low | Volume triggered recording fails to stop | 2016-01-09 | Luca Leonardo Scorcia | 2016-01-09
Task Description
Hi, I’m trying to record myself playing the guitar using my old, trusty FuzeV2 (both a very old version - sorry didn’t wrote it down but had to be at least a couple of years ago - and today’s version 87229a4). Recording parameters as follows:
Trigger: Repeat TrigType: New file Prerecord Time: 1s Start Above: -22dB for at least: 1s Stop Below: -26dB for at least: 1s Presplit Gap: 1s (don’t really understand what it does from the manual, but it says it usually has to be the same value of the Stop Below Time, so…)
Recording starts correctly when noise is detected according to conditions; then apparently it correctly detects the silence and stops the recording. But immediately the ‘Repeat Trigger’ parameter kicks in and _immediately starts a new recording_. At this point, the trigger status and the recording status aren’t matching anymore. The recording screen shows the recording file size growing, but the Trigger status is ‘Ready’. I have confirmed that on the actual file on disk the silence is meanwhile recorded.
Did I understand any of the parameters wrong or has anybody else the same problem?

12639 | Bugs | Themes | Very Low | Certain themes cause the WPS to not load properly and U... | 2012-04-08 | Ludovic Jacques | 2013-08-15 | 2 |
Task Description
Both issues seem to appear with any version of my theme and with any build. Let's try it with the latest version 1.30 of my theme (in attachment but also here: http://themes.rockbox.org/index.php?themeid=1585 ) and a recent build (I use version: 0c4bd3a-120406)
-Theme loading
When you load the theme for the 1st time, the WPS will never load properly (failsafe). The workaround is to turn off the device and turn it on again and then the WPS will always load properly until you reload the theme for some reasons (trying another theme and revert back to mine etc). I tried both with the full theme version and this "light" version of WPS: http://pastie.org/3747546
-USB connection (tested on Windows 7, with or without a microSD, and there isn't such an issue with the other themes)
If I plug the USB cable while the player is on or off, it will almost never mount properly. Usually the USB screen appears on my SBS, the computer recognizes a USB device is connected but either nothing appears in "my computer" or the device appears but is not accessible. When I unplug the USB cable, the Zip gets stuck on the USB screen and only reset can turn it off. Sometimes it even displays some erros like that when plugging the USB cable: "data abort at 30FSR 0x8 (domain 0, fault address 0x964176 bt pc: 0x3006AC3 bt end" , sometimes it doesn't display the USB on SBS but gets stuck on the main menu. And rarely in the same conditions it also mounts properly…
Like for WPS, I made a "light" version of SBS without the status bar and that way the Zip seems to mount and unmout properly every time! http://pastie.org/private/cauhxelaip7hrpqpcwdbxw So maybe a tag in the status bar causes the issue with USB connection?

12759 | Bugs | Themes | Very Low | Various RDS issues (Clip Zip, YP-R0) | 2012-09-30 | Ludovic Jacques | 2015-02-25 | 1 |
Task Description
I noticed various RDS-related issues on my Clip Zip and Samsung R0
1) Sansa Clip Zip With the latest builds (for example version 341e2c4-120929) I noticed the RDS text just behaves crazy, like blinking for no reason and displaying strange characters. Besides, the RDS name won't display most of time or at least needs much time to display. When reverting back to an older build (0c4bd3a-120406 for example), the RDS name displays quickly and for all stations now and the RDS text is just displaying and scrolling normally. Tested and noticed with my theme lebellium Samsung -like: http://themes.rockbox.org/index.php?themeid=1681 and with the various DFKT Minimum Zip themes (this one for example: http://themes.rockbox.org/index.php?themeid=1539 ) screenshots of the issue: http://imageshack.us/a/img855/8724/dump120926124155.png http://imageshack.us/a/img837/2154/dump120926124439.png
2) Samsung YP-R0 In addition to the RDS issues reported for the Zip above that also exist on the R0, it seems that the RDS text makes the device crash after a few seconds or minutes with my theme lebellium Samsung-like (version 1.60 beta to download in attachment). I found 2 unsatisfying ways to bypass this annoying crash: -Remove the %s scrolling tag for the RDS text, that is to say replace "%s%ac%tz" by "%ac%tz". But that's not a good solution since then the RDS text is cut off. The %tz tag only makes sense when associated with a %s tag and all other themes supporting RDS use it and work well that way. -Replace the RDS text font (currently 20-DroidSans-Bold.fnt) by another font from the Rockbox Font Pack. As I want a nice anti-aliased font, the only acceptable alternative I found is the Ubuntu Bold font. But this font makes the device crash too…
So I just hope there is a bug somewhere that can be fixed?

Task Description
Bug exists in the DEV builds for, at least, Sansa Clip+, Sansa Fuze+, and iPod Video for at least a year, although I cannot confirm this as I've only just now tracked down the problem. The issue was discovered because imagemagick occasionally selects 1x2,1x2,1x2 as the chroma sampling factor when converting an image.
To recreate this bug, convert any image using imagemagick to a JPEG with that chroma sampling factor and attempt to view it in Rockbox. What you will see is a nonsensical image to the size of the original JPEG. Any desktop image viewer, like eyeofgnome, renders the picture correctly.
I've also included a sample Rockbox logo generated in the faulty fashion along with this bug. To create it, run this command in a Unix-like with imagemagick and curl installed: 'curl -J -L "https://www.rockbox.org/rockbox400.png" | convert - -sampling-factor 1x2,1x2,1x2 -quality 100 folder.jpg'

11486 | Bugs | Database | Very Low | Bookmarks from tagcache don't work | 2010-07-18 | Marek Salaba | 2011-02-19 | 1 |
Task Description
Hello.
I found that bookmarks which was automaticaly created (by the function Bookmark on Stop with set to Ask) from tagcache don’t work. Problem is in missing path to file in bmark file. I made more test and now I attach bmark where first line/bookmark is from tagcache and second line/bookmark is from files browser. Both are on approximately same time.
I testted on Sansa c250 and Sansa Fuse2 with Rockbox r27481-100718.
Can anybody from developers focused on it, please.
Much more thanks. Salaba

Task Description
Hello.
Can you somebody add some info about using talkclip for shortcuts.txt in manual section 5.14 Shortcuts.
I'd recommend replace this
"talkclip: <filename clip of a talk that speak When voice menus are enabled>"
for this
"talkclip: <filename clip with full path of a talk that speak When voice menus are enabled
(example /.rockbox/filename.talk)>"
I suggest this because I took a long time before I figured out how it should be properly.

11355 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Auto-Change Directory crashes hardwarecodec players | 2010-06-05 | Marianne Arnold | 2012-01-14 | 1 |
Task Description
When the option “Auto-change directory” is enabled, my Ondio crashes at the end of the current folder’s playlist when it would have to create a new one.
The error it shows is “I09: CPUAdrEr at 09010FF8”. The address varies a bit with the actual revision, this example is with r26246 and an OndioFM backlight build (but the problem is present in plain SVN builds too). Looking at the map file shows that the crash happens in the cue_find_current_track function.
Bisecting build turned up that the error was introduced with the cuesheet rework in r21978/9 and the fix in 21982 fixed usual folder playback but not auto-change directory. It is reproducible on the Archos Recorder so I assume a general hwcodec problem.

Task Description
This bug already stands for a while and was reported in IRC but since nothing happened so far, I’m going to report it here.
On targets with early USB (”usual” looking USB screen when plugging from off-state and probably only hardware bridge USB) the statusbar that should be there in the screen is missing and when you disconnect the player so that the “rest” of Rockbox would start, it crashes.
The address where the crash happens with the build currently flashed to my Ondio is in “lib/libskin_parser.a(skin_parser.o)” - more exactly “9035954: 8b fb bf 903594e <_skin_parse+0×152>”. I pastebinned the complete disassembly of the _skin_parse function here: http://pastebin.com/LZMNW96a .
I will also try to find the exact revision that introduced the bug but that’ll take a while. If I remember correctly it came with some statusbar skinning commit which is already a while ago now and crept up twice in a row (first was fixed, then it came back). Plus it is not the easiest and no quick task testing flashed builds on the Ondio….

7904 | Bugs | Applications | Very Low | Disable shut down on Rockpaint for iPod & Suggestions | 2007-10-08 | Mark | 2012-01-11 | 1 |
Task Description
Holding the Pause button (to move/paint down) will shut down rockbox.
This shutdown combination should be disabled for Rockpaint!
While I’m at it (and you can put this in a different Flyspray if you want), I suggest that we make use of the iPod scrollwheel somehow in Rockpaint, maybe to change the size or shape of the brush or something and/or in the menus.
I would also like to be able to set the colour of the background to start with.

12883 | Bugs | Codecs | Very Low | Opus becomes unresponsive at lowest CPU frequency | 2013-07-20 | Mark Mitchinson | 2016-01-20
Task Description
After playing a few opus files (~128 kbps) the system becomes so unresponsive that it cannot decode the file in real time, and the device cannot respond to any input within a reasonable timeframe (have to hard power off).
This does not occur when you set the cpu frequency beyond the highest setting in the debug menu!
To reproduce: play opus files in a playlist with normal cpu scaling on beginning of 2nd or 3rd file, system will become unresponsive.

Task Description
When using an image in a theme it shows ugly gradients/dithering, as if it was only 16 bit. When the same image however is used as backdrop (%X tag, instead of ‘regular’ %xl and %xd), it looks smooth and 24 bit.
Attached image shows the issue. Top half shows what Rockbox does when the image is loaded via %xl and %xd. Bottom half shows how the image should look like (and how it does indeed look when it’s used as a %X backdrop).
Tested on a Cowon D2 simulator and on an Android device running RaaA.

Task Description
Hi,
I’m experiencing an issue with WMA Pro playback on my Clip Zip.
I’ve got the lastest stable build of Rockbox 3.13. Files were encoded with dbpoweramp.
Some files playback normally, but majority of tracks skips. Always at the same point if not forwarding or rewinding.
Here’s a sample. The track skips at 2.15.

Task Description
Whenever the HOLD switch is turned off, the hold icon in rockbox disappears, but hold actually doesn’t let go. I can’t use any keys until scroling is used. Scrolling left or right is the only thing that actually switches off hold. It can be pretty annoying as I use HOLD a lot.

12960 | Bugs | Database | Very Low | iriver h140 only shows files in chronological order, al... | 2014-03-12 | Matthew | 2014-03-12
Task Description
I am having a couple of problems with Rockbox on my iRiver H140. The first issue is that all my songs in the files folder are displaying only in the order that they were uploaded onto the machine. If I go into the settings and choose to display Artists in alphabetical order it doesn't have any effect! I am left to endlessly scroll through the names or listen through the iriver player which doesn't play WAVs or FLACs so i can't access everything. Secondly, if I start up and resume playback of an album it doesn't then allow me to access the files folder when I navigate to it. I have to then restart my player and go to files from there. If I later come out to the main menu and choose Files, or any folder for that matter, it won't open. It's really frustrating. Any ideas of a fix?

11192 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | FLAC with CUEsheet playback issues (reopening of FS#735... | 2010-04-09 | Matthieu Mambrini | 2012-07-27
Task Description
This is a reopening of issue FS#7354 (quoted below) related to playback problems involving cuesheet support and flac files (labelled #1 in the original post). Jumps to certain positions in flac file according to the cuesheet fail consistently.
The bug is extensivelly described in the original report and can be easily reproduced in current versions. I reproduced it in many situations with the following configuration:
Equipment used: Cowon D2 and Cowon D2 simulation Rockbox version: tested on r25508-100407 and r24777-100219 (simulation) Rockbox settings: Cuesheet support ON, other on default FLAC files: Ripped form my original CDs with EAC (to WAV and cuesheet) in secure mode and processed with FLAC 1.12 and/or 1.14 compression level 8. MD5 checksums on cuesheets and FLACS checked. Cuesheet syntax OK, cuesheet file encoding UTF8-DOS and/or DOS. Works properly my on computer.
Quote of the original post
Full description of issue #1: While playing certain (but not all) FLAC files with CUE support (played by navigating to FLAC file in “FILES” mode and pressing play), the “skip to next track” command won’t work on certain tracks on that cuesheet, but will skip to other tracks on that CUE just fine. It occurs while in both “now playing” or “browse cuesheet” screen. When I try to skip to certain tracks on CUE, the current playback will stop for a moment and the icon indicates disk usage (just like normal) but it wont skip to appropriate position, just resume playback at current track/position. I have experienced this on multiple files, encoded with FLAC 1.12 and 1.14.
Issue #1 - Tested: * Found two cases (FLAC + CUE files) in my collection (but I’m sure there are many more) that have this problem. * These files play without a problem on my computer with Foobar2k and were securely ripped form original CD and encoded (with differnet FLAC versions), MD5 checksum-ed and CUEsheets checked for proper syntax - ALL FINE.
1.) I verified that the issue occurs while trying to navigate to track #9 in case of FLAC file A, and track #7 on FLAC file B. Track start times on both files are different, different lengths and don’t seem to have some kind of “pattern” or to differ (in terms of length, index position,..) from tracks on cuesheet that skip-to normally.
2.) I substituted the A and B FLAC files with FLAC file C (which is a FLAC from a different CD) and preserved the original cuesheets A and B and tried to play FLAC C with these two cuesheets to confirm if it is a problem with a cuesheet. Everytrhing worked as it should and the problem did not occur. So I think that rules out the cuesheet as the only cause of the problem.
3.) I used both cuesheets A and B and both FLAC files A and B, but played FLAC A with cue B and vice-versa. Everything played OK, even on previously problematic positions. (of course the cuesheet info wasn’t correct for that FLAC, since they were swapped, but skipping to tracks worked) That seemed to indicate that there might be a problem with a specific position/time in the FLAC file that the playback wont jump to.)
4) I altered both cuesheets from previous (3.) test so that I entered the correct/problematic INDEX of _one_ of the cuesheet tracks to match the track index of original cuesheet, so that it “hit” that problematic position. So While I played FLAC A with modified cue B (entered the problematic time/index of cue A to one of the tracks) the problem reoccured! I could not skip to that (altered) track position. This led me to believe that this problem occurs when the track index in cuesheet “hits” a certain time/spot on a specific FLAC file.
5.) This time I checked what will happen if I use a third CUESHEET (from some other CD) on original A and B FLAC files. Everything worked OK. No surprise, as that third cuesheet did not have the track index time of that problematic position.
4.) This time I reencoded both A and B FLAC files with a different FLAC version (now 1.14, was 1.12) and tested again. Previously problematic tracked worked OK! BUT problem started occuring on other tracks now, on file A on track #13, while FLAC B now had multiple problems: track #2, 5, 8, 14! This suggest that it is not an encoding problem.
Once again, these files work flawlessly on my computer and are proper lossless conversions (I also always use the VERIFY function while converting to/from FLAC)
So the conclusion would be: When cuesheet index of a track “hits” just the right position in a FLAC file, regardless of its encoding the issue will occur. Also, this also isn’t an uncommon problem since I experienced it on 4 occasions and seems to be not-that-hard to find if you test several FLAC + cue combos.
I realize that this happens only with certain FLAC and track indexes COMBOS so it might be harder to recreate, but it really seems not that uncommon. And if not otherwise, I could supply the FLACS in questions (but each is several hundred MBs long and may be illegal to distribute it). I believe it can be recreated with just about any FLAC file, by finding a proper CUEsheet track index. It would be highly unusual that it would happen so frequent in my collection if it was an “isolated case” and I honestly believe it has nothing to do with FLAC or CUE files and that they are encoded correctly and accurately.

12808 | Bugs | Battery/Charging | Very Low | [WIP] New vgm streamed music plugin powered by vgmstrea... | 2013-01-25 | Mauricio Garrido | 2013-01-25 | 1 |
Task Description
Hi there,
this is another WIP plugin that I wrote last year. It plays videogame streamed music
using the UADE library. Original homepage here: sourceforge.net/projects/vgmstream/
I'm a bit new to git so please forgive me for not uploading a proper patch.
To test the plugin, simply copy the rockstream folder to the plugins folder in
rockbox sources. And you have to extract the data.zip file in the .rockbox folder.
The formats.db found in data.zip is basically a list with all vgmstream supported
extensions (at least "all" by the time I wrote the plugin). You can add or remove
new or unwanted extensions there. The plugin will only handle the extensions found
in the formats.db.
Currently the plugin works as a viewer plugin, and there is only one extension associated
with the plugin in viewers.config for testing purposes, but you can always use the
'open with' option from rockbox. Once you open a file the plugin will parse all supported
files found in the same folder.
The vgmstream project is updated quite often, if someone wants to
update the core library, I believe that would be very easy, since I only changed a couple
of things to it.
I'm not going to work on this anymore, so I decided to upload it here, and hope someone
can make a proper patch and maybe some dev would be interested in testing it, make
the necessary changes and upload an stable release.
As a last comment, I have only tested the plugin in the simulator, samsungypr0, fuze+
and ipod nano. It only worked in the simulator and samsungypr0, so hope someone can
fix that.
Please read the README file for some additional info about the plugin.
Working on: simulator and samsungypr0

Task Description
When the battery is nearly empty and the iriver H10 is about to shutdown, the volume sometimes suddenly increases progressively, as if the volume UP button was pressed and held down, all the way up to the maximum.
This has happened to me about 3-4 times so far. Pressing the volume DOWN button somewhat counters this bug, but only for as long as the DOWN button is used - the volume keeps increasing.
This occurs with Rockbox Release 3.5 (not 3.4 as the Report Version field of the ticket says).

10405 | Bugs | FM Tuner | Very Low | FM Radio Tuner quality compared to OF | 2009-07-03 | mcfang | 2012-02-29
Task Description
The FM Tuner appears to be very sensitive to noise and static compared to the original firmware radio.
Apart from the static and noise the Rockbox FM Tuner sounds much clearer and sharper than the original firmware, so I wonder if this may be related to the OF using a lower sampling rate or cutting off the higher frequencies to reduce noise.

11231 | Bugs | Codecs | Very Low | Skipping and stuttering in low bitrate .WMA files | 2010-04-30 | Michael Bauminger | 2011-10-27 | 1 |
Task Description
This is actually release 3.5.1
I have quite a few low bitrate .wma audio files that play fine in the original firmware, play fine in VLC, but skip, stutter, and hiss in Rockbox.
The file is 20kbps, 22 kHz, mono, Windows Media Audio V2.
I have attached a sample cut from a larger file. Like the original files, it plays fine in the original firmware and in VLC.

12864 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Automatic Resume behavior inconsistent on 3.13 | 2013-05-24 | Michael Bauminger | 2013-11-18
Task Description
This may be all players; I have only had experience with the Sansa Clip+ and Clip Zip. On version 3.13 the Automatic Resume feature works inconsistently, especially on the 2nd+ file of a playlist.
In version 3.11.2, the feature worked correctly on my Clip+. If I paused the player and the player turned off due to the timeout, when I turned the player back on and pressed the “Home” button or “Resume Playback”, the entire playlist would be back in place and playback would resume at the spot I paused. If I was 30 seconds into the third file in a playlist, playback would resume at that point. When that file finished, the next file in the playlist would start. Pressing “Previous” or “Next” would play the previous or next file in the playlist.
In version 3.13, this feature does not always work correctly. In fact, it rarely works correctly when playing a file that is not the first file in a playlist. Some times it works fine. Most times when I try to resume playback, it instead plays the beginning of the first track in the playlist. Some times when that happens, if I manually navigate to the track I was in when I paused, it will resume that track from the correct position rather than starting it over from the beginning.
This behavior is seriously agitating. I use my player to listen to multi-hour podcasts broken into separate files for each hour. If I get a phone call and pause my player I expect my player to automatically shut itself off after a few minutes, and it does. When I start the player again, I want to be able to pick up just where I left off. On versions prior to this, I could. In 3.13 it does not work 9 out of 10 times.

11995 | Bugs | Drivers | Very Low | screendump problems caused by r29445 | 2011-03-07 | Michael Chicoine | 2011-12-07 | 1 |
Task Description
r29445 introduced problems with screendump on sansa e200 and e200v2 (and possibly more). Screendump works properly with r29444.
Steps to reproduce:
1. delete or backup existing .rockbox directory 2. install r29445 (or later) 3. reboot 4. navigate to System → Debug (Keep Out!) → Screendump and press select to enable 5. attach USB cable to trigger screendump
On e200, this results in: *PANIC* Stkov usb (0)
on e200v2, this results in a deadlock - no keypad response - backlight & button light never timeout. Upon reboot, multiple dump files exist.
On e200v2 only, when dircache is disabled, screendump will function properly.
