10980 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Click when pausing/resuming with fade/max precut settin... | 2010-02-08 | Shiloh Hawley | 2010-02-08
Task Description
I like to keep the equalizer on with the precut set to -24db, as a volume limiter. I also like the fade on stop/pause set on. When I pause there is a noticeable ‘click’ sound after the music fades out. Also a click before fading in when I resume.
This was not always the case, but I am not sure how old the version I was using, that did not do this.
By the way, this also occurs on the Gigabeat S, as well as Gigabeat F. I don’t know about other models.
Let me know if you need more information.

11139 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | music pause on buffer refill - FS#10919 not completely ... | 2010-03-23 | Ronald Malbosc | 2010-05-21
Task Description
Hi,
I think that the problem reported on FS#10919 is still here, or at least not completely solved. But now, I get the feeling that the pause only happens when the buffer refill is triggered via a track skip. During normal playback, it don't seem to happen any more.
The build I tried it on is r25249.

11192 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | FLAC with CUEsheet playback issues (reopening of FS#735... | 2010-04-09 | Matthieu Mambrini | 2012-07-27
Task Description
This is a reopening of issue FS#7354 (quoted below) related to playback problems involving cuesheet support and flac files (labelled #1 in the original post). Jumps to certain positions in flac file according to the cuesheet fail consistently.
The bug is extensivelly described in the original report and can be easily reproduced in current versions. I reproduced it in many situations with the following configuration:
Equipment used: Cowon D2 and Cowon D2 simulation Rockbox version: tested on r25508-100407 and r24777-100219 (simulation) Rockbox settings: Cuesheet support ON, other on default FLAC files: Ripped form my original CDs with EAC (to WAV and cuesheet) in secure mode and processed with FLAC 1.12 and/or 1.14 compression level 8. MD5 checksums on cuesheets and FLACS checked. Cuesheet syntax OK, cuesheet file encoding UTF8-DOS and/or DOS. Works properly my on computer.
Quote of the original post
Full description of issue #1: While playing certain (but not all) FLAC files with CUE support (played by navigating to FLAC file in “FILES” mode and pressing play), the “skip to next track” command won’t work on certain tracks on that cuesheet, but will skip to other tracks on that CUE just fine. It occurs while in both “now playing” or “browse cuesheet” screen. When I try to skip to certain tracks on CUE, the current playback will stop for a moment and the icon indicates disk usage (just like normal) but it wont skip to appropriate position, just resume playback at current track/position. I have experienced this on multiple files, encoded with FLAC 1.12 and 1.14.
Issue #1 - Tested: * Found two cases (FLAC + CUE files) in my collection (but I’m sure there are many more) that have this problem. * These files play without a problem on my computer with Foobar2k and were securely ripped form original CD and encoded (with differnet FLAC versions), MD5 checksum-ed and CUEsheets checked for proper syntax - ALL FINE.
1.) I verified that the issue occurs while trying to navigate to track #9 in case of FLAC file A, and track #7 on FLAC file B. Track start times on both files are different, different lengths and don’t seem to have some kind of “pattern” or to differ (in terms of length, index position,..) from tracks on cuesheet that skip-to normally.
2.) I substituted the A and B FLAC files with FLAC file C (which is a FLAC from a different CD) and preserved the original cuesheets A and B and tried to play FLAC C with these two cuesheets to confirm if it is a problem with a cuesheet. Everytrhing worked as it should and the problem did not occur. So I think that rules out the cuesheet as the only cause of the problem.
3.) I used both cuesheets A and B and both FLAC files A and B, but played FLAC A with cue B and vice-versa. Everything played OK, even on previously problematic positions. (of course the cuesheet info wasn’t correct for that FLAC, since they were swapped, but skipping to tracks worked) That seemed to indicate that there might be a problem with a specific position/time in the FLAC file that the playback wont jump to.)
4) I altered both cuesheets from previous (3.) test so that I entered the correct/problematic INDEX of _one_ of the cuesheet tracks to match the track index of original cuesheet, so that it “hit” that problematic position. So While I played FLAC A with modified cue B (entered the problematic time/index of cue A to one of the tracks) the problem reoccured! I could not skip to that (altered) track position. This led me to believe that this problem occurs when the track index in cuesheet “hits” a certain time/spot on a specific FLAC file.
5.) This time I checked what will happen if I use a third CUESHEET (from some other CD) on original A and B FLAC files. Everything worked OK. No surprise, as that third cuesheet did not have the track index time of that problematic position.
4.) This time I reencoded both A and B FLAC files with a different FLAC version (now 1.14, was 1.12) and tested again. Previously problematic tracked worked OK! BUT problem started occuring on other tracks now, on file A on track #13, while FLAC B now had multiple problems: track #2, 5, 8, 14! This suggest that it is not an encoding problem.
Once again, these files work flawlessly on my computer and are proper lossless conversions (I also always use the VERIFY function while converting to/from FLAC)
So the conclusion would be: When cuesheet index of a track “hits” just the right position in a FLAC file, regardless of its encoding the issue will occur. Also, this also isn’t an uncommon problem since I experienced it on 4 occasions and seems to be not-that-hard to find if you test several FLAC + cue combos.
I realize that this happens only with certain FLAC and track indexes COMBOS so it might be harder to recreate, but it really seems not that uncommon. And if not otherwise, I could supply the FLACS in questions (but each is several hundred MBs long and may be illegal to distribute it). I believe it can be recreated with just about any FLAC file, by finding a proper CUEsheet track index. It would be highly unusual that it would happen so frequent in my collection if it was an “isolated case” and I honestly believe it has nothing to do with FLAC or CUE files and that they are encoded correctly and accurately.

11355 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Auto-Change Directory crashes hardwarecodec players | 2010-06-05 | Marianne Arnold | 2012-01-14 | 1 |
Task Description
When the option “Auto-change directory” is enabled, my Ondio crashes at the end of the current folder’s playlist when it would have to create a new one.
The error it shows is “I09: CPUAdrEr at 09010FF8”. The address varies a bit with the actual revision, this example is with r26246 and an OndioFM backlight build (but the problem is present in plain SVN builds too). Looking at the map file shows that the crash happens in the cue_find_current_track function.
Bisecting build turned up that the error was introduced with the cuesheet rework in r21978/9 and the fix in 21982 fixed usual folder playback but not auto-change directory. It is reproducible on the Archos Recorder so I assume a general hwcodec problem.

11582 | Patches | Music playback | Very Low | Use Fastforward/Rewind (FF/RW) to skip tracks quickly. | 2010-08-29 | Chad Joan | 2010-08-29 | 1 |
Task Description
This patch adds an option to allow the Fastforward/Rewind buttons to be used to skip tracks entirely.
This is an itch of mine that I scratched and am offering up to others if you are interested.
I’ve been using audio lessons to learn Japanese and ran into issues navigating with the normal FF/RW buttons. The acceleration based on track length left me with no sense of time since I don’t keep track of how far I am into my 30 minute long lessons. Simply backing up 5 seconds to catch something I missed was a problem because I’d have to look at what I was doing to see how far I’d ff/rw. Kinda hard when one tick moves 30 seconds too. This is problematic when driving! The existing skip-length feature is really good for this. However, if I use that to skip 5 second increments then I abandon any way of skipping entire tracks. So I re-purposed the FF/RW buttons for skipping tracks and use skip-length for navigating within a track.
I’ve been using this in r27841 for about a week on my Gigabeat, but it seems like it should work for r27942 as well.

11619 | Patches | Music playback | Very Low | Restore pitch and speed settings on resume | 2010-09-10 | Frank Gevaerts | 2017-12-10 | 3 |
Task Description
This patch should save pitch and speed settings to nvram, and restore them after reboot if needed.
If I read the code correctly, there should be enough room in nvram (and anyway, the way this is done doesn't apply to any targets that actually use real nvram)
This code compiles, but apart from that it's completely untested.
Of course, since this patch increments the nvram data version, you'll lose resume info the first time you reboot.

12006 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Android: OGG, SPX, MP3 playback problem | 2011-03-12 | Tuomas Airaksinen | 2011-08-12
Task Description
I’m using revision 29572 of android port. Host system is Samsung Galaxy 3 i5800, with 240×400 resolution display, with version 2.2 (Froyo) of Android.
The problem is as follows. When trying to start playback of OGG or SPX files, the playback does not start occasionally (the change is maybe less than 20% to have playback). By rewinding randomly it is possible to get it start playback. The same behaviour occurs when starting from bookmarks and from file explorer. The problem occurs with default config file.
Tried with MP3 and had the same problem. The problem may be with other codecs as well but I have not tried it so extensively.

12080 | Patches | Music playback | Very Low | Scrobbledroid API support for Android | 2011-04-25 | Matt Muscari | 2011-05-22 | 1 |
Task Description
Adding last.fm scrobbling support to the Android version via one of the existing Android Last.fm apps is actually very easy - the log file approach doesn't seem to be compatible with e.g. the actual Last.fm app. Last.fm supports the scrobbledroid api. Adding scrobbledroid intents into the RunForegroundManager class adds support for scrobbling in about 10 lines of code. Attached is a patch to add in the appropriate intent creation and sending. This code could be modified to allow toggling via the settings page, but I don't know much about the native framebuffer code for the UI that is used by rockbox for android. I leave that to somebody else to implement if this is deemed to be too inflexible. I just want to submit this code so that others may enjoy last.fm support without having to jump through hoops to upload log files to last.fm on Android devices.

12223 | Patches | Music playback | Very Low | sinc resampling for rockbox | 2011-08-09 | Stefan Keller | 2012-03-28 | 11 |
Task Description
The attached patch implements sinc based resampling in rockbox. I have only tested it stand-alone so far (i.e. the code outside of rockbox – I am waiting for a replacement for my broken android phone to test it there). There is (of course) quite some room for improvement. Things which could be improved: - buffer handling - calculate the correct sinc spanning the whole table for downsampling. Then the downsampling and upsampling code would be the same (no need for sinc_increment, saving some additions). Also the result would be more accurate resampling. - Save some memory by always calculating the correct sinc and putting it into resample_data. Would need to use fp_sincos() for that. - Save some more memory by taking advantage of sinc's symmetry, only storing half of it in the table.
I know that I'm breaking the coding-style by using more than 80 chars in some lines. I will fix that when I have time. I wanted to get this code finally out to get some feedback after it sitting for two weeks (basically unchanged) on my HD.

On build 30622 and previous builds, there is an issue with resuming playback.
When "Resume Playback" is selected from the menu, you transition into the music control screen but there is no output aside from some crackling noises.
Occasionally, the song would play for half a second before silencing.
The play/pause button during this situation shows a pause symbol which suggests that the song is supposed to play. However, the song progress bar remains at 0:00.

12369 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Unneeded mass storage accesses with dircache off | 2011-11-06 | Andree Buschmann | 2011-12-25
Task Description
With r30907 (and also back to at least r30809 which I tested as well) I experience unneeded mass storage accesses on my iPod nano2G. I do not see this effect on my iPod Video.
Use case: - Create a playlist from either DB or file browser - Let buffering finish - Skip forward track by track (I use mpc/mp3/aac with embedded album art.)
Effect seen: For some skips I see short flash accesses (much shorter than full rebuffering).
This only happens if dircache is off. With activated dircache this effect is gone.
As such mass storage accesses are severely impacting the battery runtime on HDD targets I hope we get this figured out before v3.10.

12417 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Audio crackling problem on Fuze v2 | 2011-11-30 | Tucker Cane | 2012-07-30 | 1 |
Task Description
I have RockBox version 3.9 on my Sansa Fuze v2 and so far I love it, but I have one problem. On a few tracks in my library, when I play them, the first few minutes of the song will be strangely distorted. Most of them are songs where the music starts off in just one of the speakers before moving into the other one. There will be bursts of loud, crackly noise in the other speaker during these first few seconds (that seem to be in time with the music) and then it will fix itself and the rest of the song will play perfectly. When I boot the default Sandisk firmware the songs play perfect like they should, it is only in RockBox that this glitch happens. I’ve messed with the settings a bit and even reset them completely, but nothing has worked thus far.
Attached is one of the songs that this happens with, from about 2 seconds in to about 7 seconds in. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really want to enjoy my music without that crap in it.

12455 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Any EQ Low Shelf change from 0.0 causes click at start ... | 2011-12-15 | Julian Hughes | 2011-12-15 | 1 |
Task Description
Hardware: iriver H140, iriver H340, Sansa Clip+
Rockbox version: 3.10 downloaded from http://www.rockbox.org/download/byhand.cgi I have also reproduced bug on official firmwares as old as 3.5.1, and on my own builds.
Settings: 100% default except for enabling EQ and setting an EQ i.e. using graphical EQ to set LS -0.5 at 60Hz or LS +1.5 at 60Hz
Expected behaviour: music track, however loaded, starts in normal way, with no sounds other than those decoded from file. Restarting the track results in the same normal playback.
Actual behaviour: music track starts with an obvious and intrusive click. This happens whether the track is loaded individually, or if it is the first track of an album loaded via .m3u playlist. When using playlist subsequent tracks play normally, without a click. But restarting any track causes the click.
It makes no difference if the EQ Low Shelf Filter settings are a big change from flat, or a tiny difference. To induce the bug it’s enough that EQ is enabled and LS is not set to be flat i.e. just an increment of +/- 0.5 dB is enough, and changing the cut off frequency or the Q factor made no difference.
This bug is noticeable with any track that starts quietly, and especially with tracks from CDs that are not mastered to modern high levels.
The Clip does tend to make its own small click on manual track changes and some button presses; I am not confusing this with the bug I describe. On the irivers I get a single click, while on the Clip I get a very unmusical double click.
I’ve attached my H140 config to illustrate that the config is unremarkable and that apart from the EQ it is at default. If anyone needs me to try stuff or make any changes or try a patch that is fine, but I would prefer it to be on an iriver because the Sansa OF database refresh is so annoying.

12591 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Playback of FLAC skips tracks randomly on Clip+ | 2012-02-19 | Thomas M. | 2012-02-19
Task Description
I'm using Rockbox 3.10 with the 01.02.16 Clip+ Firmware on a Sansa Clip+ 8GB, installed via the installer.
There are a lot of 44kHz/16bit FLAC files stored on the device. During playback it could happen that the next track starts while the current one isn't even close to finished. This can be in the first few seconds or in the middle of the song.
This usually doesn't happen to the same song twice. It's generally a different song each time. When skipping back to the track that was skipped, it usually plays without any problems.
The memory has been checked with CHKDSK and no errors were found. The FLACs play fine in foobar2000 and I'm certain that they are okay.
I do believe the error occurs most often after roughly quarter to half an hour of playback.
This may be related to FS#12208

12649 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Some MIDI files crash the player | 2012-04-20 | Fergus Duniho | 2012-04-21
Task Description
I'm using a Sansa Clip Zip, which hasn't been added to the Player Type list. I've noticed that several MIDI files crash the player, reporting OUT OF MEMORY and MALLOC BARF errors. This is more likely to happen with MIDI files with many instruments, such as orchestral pieces. One example is a MIDI file for Debussy's La Mer. It tries to load all instruments into memory before playing and will crash without playing anything. I don't know if this can be fixed with better memory management or if my player just has too little RAM.

12653 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Rockbox randomly crashes during playback | 2012-04-24 | Bruno Gil | 2013-09-02
Task Description
So, I have a Clip Zip at the moment. Been using rockbox on it since day 1, and since day one i've always had an issue: during playback, when accessing files from the SD card, the player randomly freezes. It's not always, it's not when accessing the same files or some specific characteristic shared by them, it just appears to be random. When it freezes, the LCD usually still responds to my commands (i can access menus, see the file info, even change song and it will display in the playback screen), but the actual playback doesn't, and I eventually have to hard reset it. I guess it's some kind of SD compatibility issues: I have an 8GB class 4 PNY. I know it's not the own card's problem since it worked perfectly on my Clip+ and does on my Android Cellphone. I've been updating daily builds for this device at least once a week since I got it, and it happens with every build.

12658 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Sansa Fuze v2 / AMSv2 soft freezing or crashing | 2012-04-29 | John Romero | 2012-04-30
Task Description
Not sure how long this chronic bug has gone on but at least before the dubious move to git from subversion. I have had trouble on my V2s with freezing (appears like they are loading in the middle of a song but nothing is happening and you can't do anything) while playing and recently freezing when adding tracks to a playlist. I can take the microSD/transflash card out and stick it into a V1 Fuze and there is no problem, it will play forever and never crash. The V2s will crash minutes after playing, sometimes a track will finish, sometimes the same track will get stuck, one time it happened less than a second after beginning to play. No white screen of death, just a soft freeze and a blinking loading indicator. If you fiddle with it it will stop blinking and become utterly unresponsive. Have tried formatting cards, etc. V1 players work fine, V2 players are now junk under this firmware.
I don't know exactly how long this problem has been going on but it has been getting worse. Before the 30,000th SVN release, perhaps somewhere around 28000, I would be getting crashes occasionally with the V2s but nothing like this. My v2 players will unconditionally crash now after a short time. Rockbox is unusable for me on my V2 Fuze players. A lot of digging may be necessary to get to the bottom of this problem because I think it is buried under a lot of newer modifications.
I will not submit any sample music files (I know you guys always ask), this is problem exclusive to AMSv2 and I am sure by now that some Rockbox developers are aware of some issues that could be attributed to this sort of problem.

12700 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Crash when stopping playback of ogg vorbis files | 2012-06-18 | Dieter | 2012-06-18
Task Description
Rockbox crashes when stopping playback of ogg vorbis files. This happens both, when I stop playback through long pressing the play button or simply if the last track in the current playlist is finished. It does not happen when stopping playback of mp3 files. Pausing does not cause a crash, only stopping does.
I reported this problem already in FS#12669 which was closed since it was asserted to be fixed, but it wasn't and isn't fixed for me.
The bug occured in version 688302a of 04/08 13:15. All earlier versions (tested back to bb0e4cc of 04/05) are working and later versions are crashing. I just tested current version e5d6e42 and Rockbox still crashes.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S running Android 2.3.7 (CyanogenMod CM7.2.0)

12749 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Android Tablet with Froyo: Playback pauses briefly ever... | 2012-09-07 | Thomas Heuving | 2012-09-07
Task Description
On my newly purchased (but used) Archos Internet Tablet 70 250GB with Android Version 2.2.? (Froyo) I installed the daily build of rasher. Everything works so far, but playback of MP3 (mostly 160 Kbit CBR and ~200 Kbit VBR) pauses briefly every 2 to 3 minutes. I just reformatted the drive, which now has ext3 and that seems to end the pause which I got on FAT32 after ~4 Seconds of every new song, but every 3 minutes or so the playbacks stops for about a second - very annoying. Don't tried other codecs as I don't own any files other than MP3. I was in the developers menu during one of this pauses, looking at the list of the contributors. The old names fly away to the right, but this was frozen also during this one second timespan - as if the rockbox-process was paused entirely or so.

12755 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Sansa Clip Zip has too many problems with lossless file... | 2012-09-24 | Peppe Weapon | 2012-12-18
Task Description
Sansa Clip Zip has big problems with Lossless files. BIG.
1) Flacs skips randomly, at every encoding level (5 or 8 it's the same) and it's impossible to reproduce this issue when I want. It skips to the next track randomly 2) Ape files stops to reproducing and makes a really big noise, this after 30 sec. or 3 min… or nothing at all. 3) Wavpack files, sometimes, stucks for 0.5 seconds and then, it continues to play. It happens to Fast encoding, or Normal encoding, it's the same. 4) AAC files make little noises and, sometimes, crash Rockbox.
Flac and APE problems, I'm sure, occurs from ages, I bought Clip Zip months ago and these problem occurred for every build and ofr every Rockbox release.
I don't think that my player's broken. These problems were previously posted by other people.
I think that the testing of builds were made too hastily, there are too many problems with lossless files. I can understand APE that requires an expensive decoding, but FLAC files couldn't have these problems :(

12760 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | FLAC / Embedded cue sheet skipping issues. | 2012-10-03 | Oliver Matthews | 2012-10-03
Task Description
This is a reopen of issue #1 of bug 7354 (http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/7354)
SETUP: HW: sansa clip+ SW: 8687b98-121001
CD's ripped as wav/cue with EAC 1.0b3 then converted to FLAC w/embedded cue with cuetools 2.1.4; used accuraterip to confirm good rip.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR:
loading a flac w/embedded cue would display markers within the track and allow forward/back skipping within the track.
ISSUE: Some tracks I am unable skip to using next/back or rewind to the start of using back. If I listen to the whole preceeding track then the display updates correctly as it goes.
I've tested this with a handful of CDs, and given the previous bug, this appears to be a general issue with flacs/embedded cuefiles.

Task Description
Sans Clip V2
24bit 96000 Hz 6 Channel (5.1) FLAC files skip to next song after 30 seconds. 30 seconds is an estimate because my screen is broken, so I can’t see what’s happening. I downloaded a daily build 3 days ago, but I think it’s a buffering issue. Flac is 8181 kbps (says Foobar).
It’s the first time I tried these files, so I don’t know if they ever worked, or ever will. If they never will work, I’m sorry for reporting this.
Thank you all for your time and efforts.

12784 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Sansa Clip+ skips to next track while playing FLAC file... | 2012-11-25 | Swiez Utko | 2012-11-26
Task Description
Player: Sansa Clip+ FW: Rockbox 3.12, official stable build, but it happens on older versions too
While playing some FLAC file, RB skips to the next track automatically. I know there is a lot of similar bugs, but this is unique:) Firstly, the problem is repeatable on my Clip. Skipping is always at one time, e.g. 00:19 for one file and 01:40 for other one. I think that these files are stored on corrupted part of SD card. OK, if it's corrupted then I have to buy a new one, but when I switch to original Sansa Clip+ firmware it play normally! At problematic places (00:19 or 01:40) there is a little 'click', but it continues to play. My conclusion is: if original FW handles such a files on bad memory, Rockbox should has workaround also. Files are OK, when I copy them to internal memory, Rockbox plays continuously. I didn't notice skipping of MP3 files on the same SD card, only with FLACs. Computer players (e.g. AIMP) plays FLACs from this SD without any problems.
I've attached movies that presents the bug on 2 different tracks. Hope it helps. http://youtu.be/0e4Xf8rKTh0 http://youtu.be/zl4LX4wEwlI

12805 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Digital squeaks on certain tracks while playback clip+ | 2013-01-18 | Lorenzo | 2013-01-18 | 1 |
Task Description
Rockbox versions: all from 3.7 to 3.12
There are really loud and annoying digital squeaks during playback on some tracks only (wma 64-96kbps). Usually the noise occurs when one channel is silent or almost. The problem doesn't occur with the OF. It makes no difference where the song is stored (sd or internal memory). The same tracks play fine on the pc. I attach a portion of a song I've recorded while playing on the device where the noise can be clearly heard.

12816 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Sansa Clip Zip hangs after "resume playback" | 2013-01-29 | Christian Mertes | 2013-01-29
Task Description
Sometimes my Clip Zip gets in a state where I can resume playback after booting it but then it doesn’t let me seek anymore (seek thingy still moves but then jumps back to where it was, playback is totally unaffected which in this case is bad of course). I also can’t pause or skip. I can go back to the main menu but I can’t move the cursor or go back to the WPS. When I go into the playlist by long-pressing down, the list usually appears but is not functional although here I can usually move the cursor up and down (sometimes I only get a kind of frame but rendering freezes at that point). Trying to shut down lets the “shutting down” popup appear but that’s it.
I seem to remember that going via “recent bookmarks” once was a workaround but in the current state this doesn’t work either.
This broken states persists between shutdowns (or well, switch-offs more like since shutting down doesn’t work). I also tried to recreate the playlist but that didn’t help either so I’m currently stuck with a player that will play but I can’t it make change what to play. I will also have to listen to the same podcast over and over again since no new resume position is saved.
The build I use is 42a725f.
Oh and sorry I didn’t choose the right player. Couldn’t find any Sansa Clip in the list in fact :/

Hi,
I’m experiencing an issue with WMA Pro playback on my Clip Zip.
I’ve got the lastest stable build of Rockbox 3.13. Files were encoded with dbpoweramp.
Some files playback normally, but majority of tracks skips. Always at the same point if not forwarding or rewinding.
Here’s a sample. The track skips at 2.15.

12864 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Automatic Resume behavior inconsistent on 3.13 | 2013-05-24 | Michael Bauminger | 2013-11-18
Task Description
This may be all players; I have only had experience with the Sansa Clip+ and Clip Zip. On version 3.13 the Automatic Resume feature works inconsistently, especially on the 2nd+ file of a playlist.
In version 3.11.2, the feature worked correctly on my Clip+. If I paused the player and the player turned off due to the timeout, when I turned the player back on and pressed the “Home” button or “Resume Playback”, the entire playlist would be back in place and playback would resume at the spot I paused. If I was 30 seconds into the third file in a playlist, playback would resume at that point. When that file finished, the next file in the playlist would start. Pressing “Previous” or “Next” would play the previous or next file in the playlist.
In version 3.13, this feature does not always work correctly. In fact, it rarely works correctly when playing a file that is not the first file in a playlist. Some times it works fine. Most times when I try to resume playback, it instead plays the beginning of the first track in the playlist. Some times when that happens, if I manually navigate to the track I was in when I paused, it will resume that track from the correct position rather than starting it over from the beginning.
This behavior is seriously agitating. I use my player to listen to multi-hour podcasts broken into separate files for each hour. If I get a phone call and pause my player I expect my player to automatically shut itself off after a few minutes, and it does. When I start the player again, I want to be able to pick up just where I left off. On versions prior to this, I could. In 3.13 it does not work 9 out of 10 times.

12877 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | Unsatisfactory support for LFN (Long File Name) | 2013-07-07 | shela | 2013-07-08
Task Description
In FAT, file name can have max 255 characters (not bytes). A file name that have 255 characters(contains many multibyte characters) is listed in File menu, but playback can’t.
Using patched firmware\include\file.h as a test, MAX_PATH 260 up to 520, rockbox can playback the long name file. But, changing theme causes PANIC.

12943 | Bugs | Music playback | Very Low | ReplayGain: Volume not adjusted if track/album _peak_ t... | 2014-01-19 | Crim Soukyuu | 2014-01-19
Task Description
I tested this on a clip+ (3.13) and creative zen (rev cc64d9e), so assuming it’s the same for all devices.
Following setup: - ReplayGain is configured to “Track if Shuffle” - “Prevent clipping” is set to on/off, does not matter
How to reproduce: - make a copy of any RG scanned file which has track/album gain and peak tags - remove the peak tags _only_, leaving gain tags intact
Expected result: - player should be able to adjust the volume, but not prevent clipping
Actual result: - player does not apply neither track not album gain.
Files containing only gain tags but not peak tags come from converting lossless → lossy and transferring gain info (since peaks will be different for the lossy file, peak tags are omitted.) With 11db of volume difference on some tracks, it’s impossible to not notice that. I am not sure why applying RG requires peak tags in rockbox, foobar2000 handles peak tag-less files without issue. Any chance to change this behavior to not rely on peak tags?

Task Description
http://web.mit.edu/mgg6/www/cover.jpg
This file is correctly decoded and displayed in the Fuze+ simulator, but testing on device results in playback stopping. Interestingly, nothing crashes, playback just stops. In theory we should be able to decode this, the resizer does not need to load more than a few lines of the image at once, which should easily fit in memory. Alternatively, if it is too large (or rather wide given that its decoded line by line) for the available space, it should probably just be rejected.
