DetailsLatex has a nice symbol 'times' (looking like an 'x' but nicer). The patch uses it where appropriate. In HTML it can (and should) be displayed as '×'.

More work is needed since \genericimg is also used (for printing screenshots) as a part of the file name.

Another try. This seems to compile well.
