When I plug in my iRiver H10 into a Dell D520 Laptop via a USB connection, the touchpad stops working and I therefore have no mouse.
This is only when the player is turned on.

If I plug in an external USB mouse it works fine.

iRiver is a H1020GB, laptop is a standard Dell Latitude D520 with Win XP.

This is not a Rockbox issue, it's an issue with your Laptop. The USB HID feature of Rockbox is known to cause problem in some setups, please disable it.
