change has been merged to v3.8 branch as
well and might be part of a 3.8.x
version.

Similar problems with my 5.5g here, playback stops after one song, skipping is not possible, trying to stop freezes the UI.
This might be related to
FS#11865. Can you please post- if you are using the database
- check if “gather runtime data” is enabled
- try if the problem still appears after you reinitialized the database?
This indeed seems to have been the case for me.
Try again with r29476 or newer.
