instead of playback mode"
However if I create the voice file and use it in the simulator for Ipod it seems to work properly.

How was it created? Voice files are not entirely compatible between target builds and their sims

The voice was created with rockbox utility and various TTS like Espeak tts.

i think that the rockbox utility creates voice files from the .lang files in svn so they will only match a current build. If you are not using a current build, please try one.

Rockbox Utility retrieves the version info from rockbox-info.txt to get the correct strings. How exactly was Rockbox Utility set up in your case? Is rockbox-info.txt on the player and correct? Can you please post the output of the Help / Troubleshooting / System Trace dialog after creating such a problematic voice file? What language are you using?

I'm using spanish language.
I'm going to create a voice file, update rockbox with the utility and attach the result.
