FS#12839 - Enable EQ setting doesn't work except on restart

Changing “Enable EQ” setting does nothing until the player is restarted. However, selecting an EQ preset does enable the EQ and take affect within a few seconds. With the new 3.13 presets I am working around this issue by simply selecting the “Flat” EQ config file to “Turn Off” the EQ. I have tried stopping playback and skipping around to other tracks forcing the buffer to refill. That doesn’t work.

I don’t know when the bug was introduced except that testing 3.11 on my Gigabeat F proved it WAS NOT present in 3.11.

I have verified the bug in 3.13 on all of these targets, so at this time I’m saying this affects all players.

Confirmed on Fuze v2, Clip v1, Clip +, Clip Zip, Gigabeat F

I checked and actually it does take effect without reboot but not unless the menu item is explicitly selected or by exiting the menu by pressing the control pad to the right. This is somewhat recent behavior as far as I can say because I recall that simply selecting the item changed the status immediately.

(Tested on Gigabeat S)

Mike S: not sure what you mean by "menu item is explicitly selected" but I tried this on my Fuze: Selecting the setting with the center button and selecting with the right button. No results with either. Some more info on this bug: It was present in 3.12 on the Clip+ but is NOT present on my Sansa c240 running 3.12.

It was present in 3.12 on the Clip+ but is NOT present on my Sansa c240 running 3.12.

I doubt the way this menu option works depends on the specific device.

I stand by my report that the bug isn't present on the c240. I triple checked it.
