FS#1284 - switchs icons on/off in dir-browser
this patch adds functionality to show/hide the
icons in the directory browser. this will give you more
room for text/title information and will satify the “text
only” purist
you can use this feature via new menu settings entry :
general settings → display → show Icons (yes/no)
(german language patch included: grundeinstellungen →
anzeige →Icons anzeigen (ja/nein)
currently, you can`t easily distinguish dirs from files(w/o
extension) with icons disabled - but it is planned to add
a leading slash to directories when icons are disabled.

I tried adding the '/' but it
doesn't make much sense - it's
effectively the same size as the
icon! I think usually you can
tell
by the name if it is a directory or
file.

I like the patch! Of course I am one of those people who want
the entire kitchen sink in there. It would be much nicer with
the leading slash as you mentioned however. If that was
implemented I would use this 100% of the time.

is there any hope to see this with the “/”
I tried adding the ‘/’ but it doesn’t make much sense - it’s
effectively the same size as the icon! I think usually you can
tell by the name if it is a directory or file.
