FS#13117 - Puzzles: Crash/freeze in sgt-bridges on Clip Zip when starting a new game
On the Sansa Clip Zip, a crash occurs in the sgt-bridges plugin when starting a new game, either by selecting New Game from the Bridges Menu or by choosing any option from the Game Type menu. The crash is intermittent, but seems to occur on average at least a third of the time a new game is started.
To reproduce reliably, simply select an option from the Game Type menu, and if the player does not crash, exit back to the Bridges Menu (press Power). Then select the next Game Type and repeat. In my experience, you will invariably have a crashed player before you reach the end of the list.
This crash occurs on a Clip Zip player with the 3.14 release and on the Clip Zip simulator, build 4f03c56 (the latest build on Rasher’s site). The simulator simply quits when a crash occurs.
On the actual player, the crash can be either a complete freeze (non-responsive to all buttons) with the puzzle displayed (most common), or the following error:
Data abort at 00
FSR 0×8 (domain 0, fault
address 0xD6BAD6
pc:0005AF70 sp:3
bt end
The crash would appear to be target dependent as it does not occur on the Sansa e200 (v1) (also using 3.14).
