FS#13248 - No audio on xDuoo X20

There no audio on the X20 starting with daily: f68463c53e-201012.

Latest working daily is: 135b3f6416-201011.

On both builds Debug→View HW info shows hp: 1 when plugging in headphones.

Huh. The X3ii and X20 should behave the same, but I'll look into this.

Just to confirm, the latest build (dfae5d8-20201020) still has issues?

Do you get anything when you plug the line in jack?

Ib Hald Andersen commented on 2020-10-20 19:22

Yes the latest build has the same issue.

The line out jack works the same as the headphone jack: It is detected in View HW info, but the player remains muted.

Ok, I think I see what's causing the problem. I had to play some crazy games with the X3ii due to it having a nasty pop on startup.

Here's an experimental build. Please let me know if there's a pop on startup or other audio artifacts when starting/stopping playback.

Thanks for the build.

Now I have sound - and the nasty pop on startup (which the x20 also had) is gone.

There remains some pops when pausing/unpausing playback and doing manual track skips, they are a bit worse than on the AGPTek Rocker, but not too awful.

Unfortunately it seems like the X20 shares the X3ii's issue where we need to mute the output to get rid of the audio artifacts, but unmuting takes so long it causes the UI to hiccup and bits of the audio to get cut off. For music that's not that big a deal, but that's not acceptable for voice prompts.
