FS#1408 - "Update VBR File" option is faulty or useless.
Ive tried “Update VBR File” option on a VBR file on my
Archos and everytime the HD “refills” the buffer,
playback is inturrupted for a couple of seconds. Loading
And Playing back the “updated” file in Soundforge works
fine. Also the WPS displays some duff information:
My WPS on the updated file
Dr And The Medics
Spirit In The Sky
80’s Hits
MP3 Rate: 32Kbs
MP3 Size: 488Kbs
MP3 Time: 2:45-21:12
Before updating the file, MP3 Rate showed 191Kbs and
MP3 Time showed the correct song length.
What does “Update VBR file” actually do? Am I doing
something wrong?

This sounds like a bug in the VBR update code. Can you
attach the file to this bug report so we can analyze it?
No feedback.
