FS#1479 - the uisimulator has an icon now

Hello,

i fiddled around with some icon-stuff the last days, so it
came to my mind “why shouldn`t the simulator exe-file
have one?”

now it has!
it`s not that important, but i had some fun doing that,
because it was not that easy task to convert it to a
16×16/32×32@256cols one which looks really good.
I first tried including an icon which had “Xp” and “256”
colors inside, but the 256 color icons inside that file
looked not very good - and even on Xp, the crappy 256
colored ones were being displayed, after
being “compiled” into the exe.

i converted the existing archos icon i used for some time
to 16×16 and 32×32 at 256 colours and added the
following line to the uisw32.rc file:
IDI_ICON1 ICON DISCARDABLE “archos.ico”

before compiling, you have to put the attached
archos.ico into the uisimulator\win32 directory

haxxors - please put that into cvs if you like it and if it
works for you,too.

regards
roland

Here is the icon file you seem unable to attach. I will change the status when I
know the file is uploaded

errr - what`s the problem now, to add this “patch” into cvs ??
noone able to do this?

Project Manager

I’ve added the icon now (named rockbox.ico), but please give
me a proper patch on how those changes are supposed to be in
the uisw32.rc file. I am 100% clueless when it comes to
windows coding.

Don’t you just add this line to uisw32.rc?
IDI_ICON1 ICON DISCARDABLE “archos.ico”

Project Manager

Probably, since that is what the instructron says.

My question is more:

*where* in the uisw32.rc file? Is it good enough to just add
it at the end of it?
