FS#1676 - Harddrive replacement
I have recently upgraded the harddrive for my Archos
Jukbox Recorder 20 to a 40GB drive. Now fully
assembled, I conect the JB to my computer (Windows
XP) but the drive can only be seen in “Device Manager”
not in the “Explorer”, so I can’t insert any firmware to
the JB. What shall I do?

You need to partition the drive. do NOT use the windows
harddisk manager as it wil always create a NTFS partition on
a 40 GB drive which you cannot use with rockbox (or the
original FW for that matter).
Use Partition magic to create a FAT32 partition and format it
as such.. you’ll then be able to put the firmware on it and use
it..
