FS#1695 - Charging problems after JBR turned off
JBR20 (upgraded with Tosh 60GB HDD)
CVS-0300910
Rockbox in Flash
ROM:2.0
Mask: 0×0302 USB: positive
ATA: 0×200,master
PR: positive
Flash: M=BF D=D6
ROM CRC:0x222F V1
(Note: this bug only applies with Rockbox in Flash)
With the power adapter attached, the JBR charges
when in idle or play mode.
However, if I turn the JBR off (holding the OFF button)
the LCD remains lit (though flashes off for a millisecond
every 1-2 seconds), displays “not charging” regadless of
how long the JBR is left. The batteries do not seem to
charge when in this state. Workaround: unplug the
mains and re-insert - the Rockbox charge screen is
displayed normally and charging starts as normal.
This bug is only a real problem when the unit is plugged
into the mains and the the ‘Sleep’ option is used - as
the workaround is not possible if you’re asleep!

This bug is as old as the dinosaurs. The battery charging
algorithm has been revised since then. Chances are that this
issue doesn't exist anymore.
