FS#177 - Freezing when playing some MP3s
On AJB6k with Rockbox 1.3 (for 4.50 or higher) :
There are some MP3s which freeze the AJB, i can only
switch it off then (but the backlight is working).
It seems to occur on VBR or high-bitrates-non-VBR files
only (not 100% sure anyway), but not all of these, not
the highest-bitrates-VBR and not all the files over a
same album.
Also, it's not related with the encoder used.
Anyway, it's always occuring on the same files. I haven't
tried to recopy these on AJB.

Please make one of these files available to us, preferably on a HTTP of
FTP server.
I have looked at the files you have sent us. The ID3V2 tag has garbage
in it. A repeating "MP3ext V3.3.17(ansi)" in the end of the tag. Our ID3
reader expected only valid ID3 frames and choked on that text.
We have added a better validity check of the tag data, and your files
work on the latest CVS build.
Have created mp3 files with audacity tool (Linux). All of
these files show this error - sometimes showing a bitrate of
1024 kbit !!!!
If you nedd some of the files for
debugging…mailto:schuepf@gmx.de
You mean that it still doesn't work, even after the bug fix?
Additional to last comment:
The file could also be found on http://www.schuepf.de/mus/ …some of the Files from Probe_020902
Have used the V1.3 image
All those files play perfectly on the latest CVS version. I now consider this
bug fixed.
