FS#2007 - Dir Buffer is full message
I am a complete novice here, but I just got an Archos
20GB recorder, model JBR V2. I installed Rockbox 2.1
software, but did not flash it, so the original Archos
firmware is still in place. Now I can access the menu
settings, but I can’t browse or play mp3 files or playlists.
I keep getting a message saying “Dir Buffer is Full”. Also,
according to the manual if I press play and On it should
take me to the broser, but it doesn’t.
Here,s the De-Bug Hardware info:
ROM: 1.32
mask: 0×0104 USB: Positive
ATA: 0×200, master
PR: positive
Flash: M=BF D=D6
ROM CRC: 0x222F V1

Raise the value under "System
Settings→Max files in dir
browser".
Also, On+Play does not take you to the
browser. Reread the
manual.

I raised the value in the "System Settings→Max files in dir
browser" from 50 to 200. I still get the same message.
I'm sorry, I should have said pushing On+Play is supposed to
take me to the File menu. It doesn't. In fact, many times when
I push buttons, I don't get the appropriate response. For
instance, according to the manual, pressing F1 should always
take me to the Main Menu. Sometimes it does, sometimes it
doesn't.
1) Set the "max files in dir browser" to about 400
2) Go back to the file browser, press F2, then Down and then
F2 again. This will force a disk spinup and will save the
settings to disk.
3) Shut the jukebox it off and start it again
