FS#2018 - Dir Buffer is Full! 20gig V2

HAve read previous entries on this error. When using
RockBox on my new Archos Recorder 20 V2 (standard
out-of-the-box), I am getting a “Dir Buffer is Full!”
message on startup, and am unable to view any files. I
have tried setting the “Max Files in directory browser” to
400, however, everytime I restart, it defaults back to
50. Need help, and I REALLY want to use RockBox on
my new V2.

OK, I figured this one out on my own. I make all the setting
changes, I go to Write .cfg file, the I have to open the file on
my computer in textpad and save it again. Then Rockbox
boots up fine. I have even flashed my V2 and am
EXTREMELY pleased….. Thanks RockBox Developers!!!!!

Yes, this is a bug in Rockbox. After you have changed the
"max files" setting, you must force a disk spinup, so the
settings are saved to disk. One way of doing it is to press
F2 while in the file browser, and then Down and F2 again.
This will force a disk access. After that, reboot and you're
set.

Any luck?

Yeah! I've just downloaded rockbox v2.2 for my Jukebox
Recorder 20 and I had the same problem! I write this for
french users…
marche!
