FS#2234 - Odd noise after recording
First off, I LOVE Rockbox!! I don’t know what I’d do
without it. My question: After recording from either the
Line-In or Mic, I get weird noises after about 35 sec or
so. This has just started happening in the last few
recordings I have made. I don’t use digital in/out so I
can’t tell you if it happens there or not. Also, Rockbox
displays the incorrect HD space left. I have tried every
build daily so far (I just downloaded and
installed “rockbox-recorder-20040619.zip”) and still the
same problems. Due to the fact that my screen stopped
working a few days ago, I figured it was a hardware
issue related to the screen, but it sounds like a possible
compression error. Not all recordings have been this
way, but the majority have had this problem. I really
wish I could give you more info (debug info and such)
but I can only see the upper 1/5 of the screen. Any help
would be great.
Model: Jukebox Recorder 20
Last Rockbox OS Update: “rockbox-recorder-
20040619.zip” Last Archos OS Update: aprox 3 months ago
Modifications:
Hardware: None (- broken display) Software: None (- configurable settings)
All recording settings are set to their maximum best
settings (41kHz, stereo, quality 7, no independant
frames) I think. I have more examples than the file
attached, but I tink you will get the idea.
Thanks again for such a great ‘upgrade’ from the archos
standard ‘not-quite-an-os’. Keep up the good work!

I have no idea what this might be. Is it the same if you
lower the gain a little? The MAs can sometimes produce
corrupt MP3 frames if the gain is too high.
Also try the latest daily build, as usual.
