FS#2275 - ID3v1-tags take precedance over ID3v2
For all those who don’t like/ need ID3v2-tags:
this quick hack allows ID3v1-tags to take precedance
over ID3v2. ID3v2-tags are only displayed when there is
no v1-tag present.
Of course this should be an option in the settings, but
that’s beyond me… This would also close feature
request #758523 (ability to choose which ID3 version is
used).

If you don’t like the V2 tags, why don’t you just remove them?
1. There were (still are?) some tagging tools, which doesn’t
handle the id3v2-removal correctly. So there is a risk to
damage your files.
2. Maybe there is some (additional) information in the
id3v2-tags I would like to keep.
3. You could utilize id3v1 and id3v2 for different purposes
(eg. using different languages).
I think, it wouldn’t hurt to make choosing the id3-version
an option. The default option wouldn’t change anything and
the v1-option would make some people happy…
