FS#2307 - New french language file
This is the new french language file for the Rockbox
firmware, based on the Eric LASSAUGE’s one, corrected,
updated and enhanced by Frédéric Sagnes and Jean
Boullier in july/august 2004.
Here you’ll only find the patch to the current CVS frencais/lang version, other files (including the
usable .lng file) can be found on my website :

I think this file is a better translation mainly because it uses
long strings: my version was specially optimized for the old
player having only 11 characters.
The remaining question would be: “How can it be possible
to manage 2 different files for the same translation ?” because
if the strings are too long on the PLAYER they are not
displayed correctly (and noone is using the old ifdef that
was used to manage the LCD differences in the code).
I assume that currently most of the Rockbox users are
Jukebox owners, we may release a patch that would include
the changes for the player model. I’ll try to make a special
.lang version, but I have no way to try it out (I’ll try to
build the simulator though).
