FS#2395 - problems with ".rockbox" folder
I am running an Archos Recorder 20 with v1.28 firmware.
After i downloaded rockbox v2.3 i extracted the files
onto the recorder. It is now unable to read any of the
language or font files, and the filenames are replaced
with jibberish. It also will not let me delete any of these
files, saying “Cannot delete file: cannot read from the
source file or disk” or that “the filename, directory name,
or volume label syntax is incorrect”

Have you run scandisk lately? It sounds like your filesystem
was/is corrupt.
“To improve the performance” of USB devices, Microsoft
pretends to write the data fully to the devices until the
are “safely removed.” Either use the safely remove icon on
your computer before disconnecting the device, or edit the
properties on your computer for that disk to turn off disk
cashing.
