FS#2417 - My buffer is full??
I have an Archose Jukebox Recorder 20 and I am using
Archos firmware version 1.28. I was using Rockbox
Release version 2.3, though the same problem appeared
when I was using 2.2. What happened is that when I
opened a large directory, a message saying “Dir Buffer is
full!” would pop up, and then certain files would not
appear in the directory, and I could not play certain
songs (it seems only those song I have loaded on
recently, but I cannot confirm this). I tried changing
the max numbers of songs that appear in a directory,
but that did nothing. The strange thing is is that when
I uninstall Rockbox, all the songs appear using just the
regular Archos firmware, and they can all be played
using just the firmware. How can I get all of my songs
to appear using Rockbox? It’s so much better
otherwise, and I don’t want to go back to the Archos
firmware (ugh!)

This is the author above, I gave the wrong email. It’s
actually David.B.Schwartz@gmail.com. Sorry for the
confusion!
It’s on page 40 in the manual. Set the “Max files in dir
browser” to an appropriate value.
Also note that you have to restart the jukebox for the
settings to take effect.
yeah, that did it. I couldn’t seem to find that page in the
manual before, and I thought I looked really carefully!
Anycase, thanks for the advice. I had tried that option
before, I just didn’t get the part about the restarting.
Thanks again!
